Erebos

Erebos was his mother's favorite of the clutch. His two imperial sisters were doted on by their father, but Erebos spent all of his time with his strange mother. He was named by her, while his sisters were named by his father. His sisters got sweet and pretty names, but he was named after a primordial god of darkness. His mother said is was fitting for a child of hers. He spent much of his childhood going on errands with his mother and hunting with her. Everything they did was a bit unsavory and unsettling. They tracked down dragons who opposed his father's cult and killed them. Time and time again, he watched his mother devour their enemies as though they were a warm steak dinner. It bothered him at first, but he soon grew accustomed to the death and gore that filled his daily life. It actually began to bring him some pleasure. There was nothing wrong with death in the name of something more important. Being an assassin appealed to him. He wouldn't be as twisted as his mother and he wouldn't work purely out of love, but for money, his own desire to cause pain, and to satisfy his own longing for pleasure.
