Sienna will never possess true pull in the Perihelions, and she has made peace with that. She is neither the Corona, nor a mirrorsmith, and there are few roles of greater importance than that. However, she is older by far than many of the whippersnappers who have answered the sun's call, and that alone is a valuable thing to be.
It does not matter that she is not among the first of the Perihelions, nor that she is not particularly close with the Corona. Some matters of life cannot be dictated by holy writ or apparent power. When young Perihelions need advice on how to fight off their demons, how to stand strong against the dark, they can go to mirrorsmiths or pray before an obelisk for guidance. But when they can't figure out their young, fragile feelings, or understand why their friends aren't talking to one another anymore, sometimes, they just need the gentle guidance of someone who has seen it all happen before.
She likes to sort out messy sweetheart stories, if she's being honest. Long past her prime, and past any desire for a significant other, Sienna finds a silly little thrill in nudging the love lives of young Perihelions toward one another. Their mission in this world is so terribly grim, so why shouldn't she try to offer them a bit of extra light to get them through the dark? Having a beloved to trust in and come home to makes towering odds so much more bearable, after all. Gives even the inexperienced something worth fighting for.
Call Sienna a busybody if you must, but what else is an elder to do? She's too old to saunter out under the weight of mirrorplate, and she's not spry enough to keep up with the couriers spreading their mission. The best she can do is encourage the youth from home, give them things to look forward to, a place worth returning to.
And maybe that means snooping a little bit. Getting nosy. But life would be terribly dull otherwise, and Sienna did not pledge herself to the Corona's shining cause just to sit in her den all day and sigh. She'll assist where she can in heeding the sun's commands, but the rest of her old life, she means to do whatever she pleases. So far, the results are quite entertaining.
