Adaptable - Resourceful - Withdrawn - Witty ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ To most non-faes Orion was perfectly stereotypical, but to his family he was quite queer. To his parents’ endless disappointment, he has no interest in taking over family the family matters, neither the gem trade nor the adventurer’s guild. In fact, he had little interest in anything but Astraea and the Shade. Ailyth had tried for years to pique his interests in something more normal, but she was much too crass for that. Even in his own businesses he did the motions with heavy distaste, and as soon as he was freed he would always return to the archives reading up on the magic-sapping force contaminating Sornieth. Among the dragons more prone to gossip proliferated a rumor that Orion planned to bring the very Shade to himself, whatever reason for be damned. After all, why did he spend so much time away now, even from his beloved library? The answer was clear to him and no one else; a little grey Fe had tumbled into his claws. While Fe was both officially and basically an orphan, Orion sponsored her various ventures into high society. To the more astute, Fe was a tool in Orion’s nefarious plans, perhaps even the vessel for the Shade he planned to curse [clan name] with. The truth couldn’t be further from that, however. Orion always tried his best to keep her blissfully unaware of the horrors of life, the Shade no exception. In truth, he found her, despite being worrying, a cute little companion to call his own. He saw her as more a daughter figure even though he had no hatchlings of his own. In his own way he cared deeply about her, the first true care he had felt for another dragon, but found the dragons that had raised him much fitter guardians than himself. The only other dragon who knew of Orion’s true motives with Fe was Ailyth, but she was far too loyal to let the secret slip and betray her young master in such a way.

- A heir of a ancient, distinguished, wealthy noble family. This family got its wealth from evacuating, processing, and selling gemstones, and (more recently) managing an adventurer's guild.
- Orion is a very withdrawn dragon that takes little interest in social gatherings or holding appearances for his lineage. Whenever he's not managing either of his businesses, he's usually in his personal library researching the Shade. No one knows why he's researching it.
- Astraea is his beloved companion from his childhood, and is with him everywhere. He puts the gem guardian's wellbeing and safety above his.
- Ailyth has been his bodyguard for years, and the two grew up together.
- He has recently taken in Fe after the dragonet was left in front of his estate one night. Fe seems to have brought Orion out of his shell a little. Orion is constantly worrying about Fe, especially since he has no experience with hatchlings.
