Although they'll go to great lengths for a good meal, they have to be careful as a truely pure soul can "corrupt" a nightmare, slowly killing them. Modern nightmares have adapted to be more resilient to pure souls, but they're not immune to their sweetness. They can enter and leave dreams as they please, but outside of them they're entirely nocturnal.
