Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this laid-back wanderer travelled a little too far from their home lair (DoomedIdeas, #571926), and now they're off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, they'd really appreciate it if you could just return them to their home lair, to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here, or to the hub if you don't want another dragon in return. This is not necessary, but they would be very grateful!

Nezinu goes by they/them pronouns, and it would be greatly appreciated if you used those in any lore that you write for them.

Travel Log:

DoomedIdeas: Nezinu has always felt welcome in the Rescue, but the idea of traveling throughout Sornieth was far too appealing for them to ignore. They hope to see as much of the world as they can!

DustyAndDespair: Though their times here had been good and they made plenty of new friends, it was growing time for Nezinu to move on.

“There’s still a whole world out there to explore, you know,” the Guardian said to a young and curious Imperial hatchling behind them, who had been tailing them throughout much of their packing.

“Can’t you stay a bit longer, please, traveller? There’s still so many questions I didn't get to ask...” Magma whined out, watching the much larger dragon with big, shiny eyes.

They smiled gently at the hatchling and patted his head lightly, smiling down at him. “I’m sorry, but I’ve stayed more than long enough. But don’t you worry, I’m sure we’ll cross paths again! And when that day comes, I’ll have a whole new story to share with you, kiddo.”

The Guardian went back and forth through the lair, giving the rest of the clan their heartfelt goodbyes. And before their departure, Nezinu made sure to make one final stop with the dragon in charge around here, giving her a grateful grin.

“Leaving so soon?” Copper asked with a small, polite smile, already knowing the answer -- that the traveller had spent their time here long enough.

“Afraid so... I hope you all stay safe though, I can’t thank you enough for letting me stay!” Nezinu responded softly.

The Spiral put a claw up and shook her head. “Trust me, it was nothing... just know you’re always welcome back here, whenever you need.” she declared, giving her traveller friend a pat on the back.

Nezinu smiled brightly and pulled Copper in for a big farewell hug, before walking up to the den entrance and giving the shadowy territory one last fond look over. Spreading their wings, they took off at long last, letting the skies lead their way.

Volrin: After leaving the Tangled Wood, Nezinu found that the Lightweaver's domain was just a hop, skip and a jump away, so they decided that's where they would make their next stop! As they poked around the Sunbeam Ruins -- making sure to give the destruction caused by the rampaging Emperor, Luminax, a wide berth -- they found a peculiar, populated marble temple on the outskirts of the Hewn City, that stood radiant and strong against the permeating murk of the rest of the ruined city. As it turned out, this temple served as the home lair for a friendly clan that welcomed in all manner of travellers and vagabonds, and this was where the Guardian decided to settle for the time being!

During Nezinu's stay, they bonded with a fellow Guardian who was also using The Purified Temple as a rest stop. His name was Shank, and Nezinu found themself quite enamored with him -- he had so many stories to tell of his travels, of his ancient ancestors who were born of Shadow and made it their goal to spread their bloodline all across the realm of Sornieth! A dozen and some generations of dragons later, here he was, looking to spread their lineage in Light.

It wasn't long before Nezinu's feelings were reciprocated by the Guardian male, and the two of them decided to settle down and nest together!

Nezinu had been so happy spending their time with Shank, but this happiness... well... unfortunately, it soon turned to resentment. Mere days after their nest had hatched, the two sisters -- Spear and Shiv -- packed up their sparse belongings and fled into the night while their parents slept. While Nezinu awoke in a right panic at the sight of their daughters' empty beds, Shank was utterly unperturbed.

"Do you remember what I told you about my lineage? How our goal is to spread our bloodline all across Sornieth?" He questioned, his tone completely unconcerned. Uninterested. "Well, when our kids are born, this is just what they do! It's a rite of passage for all children of The Herd."

Nezinu was consumed by rage. "And you just decided that it wasn't worth telling me that? So I would know what to expect from our kids?"

"Oops...?" Shank shrugged his shoulders dismissively. "Look, I'm really sorry, but I didn't think it was all that important, okay? I did the same thing to my parents when I was a hatchling, and I just kind of considered it the norm! I'm sure they'll be okay out there, I did just fine!"

Oops?! Wasn't all that important?!? Nezinu was positively disgusted at Shank's careless demeanour. They left the Temple without another word to their mate, storming out in a rash decision pushed by their fuming outrage. Just behind them, Shank followed in hot pursuit, stumbling after them desperately and blubbering numerous apologies.

The two of them travelled like this all the way out of the Sunbeam Ruins, and into their next destination!

BlckKnght: Recklessly, Nezinu took flight into a storm in order to lose Shank. The winds were strong but they were used to traveling in any sort of weather.
When the storm cleared, Nezinu found that they had crossed the world to Cloudsong the Windswept Plateau. Tired and heart soar, they landed near a lair that was bustling with activity.

They were hailed by a laughing green and white imperial, called Shahrazad. "Hail and well met Travel! You've come at a momentous occasion for it is the Mistral Jamboree! Come sing and dance! Tell stories! And may NoodleDad grant you favorable winds!"

Nezinu was then caught up in a whirlwind of laughing, happy dragons that treated them like one of their own. And they sang songs, danced, and finally told stories. Many were impressed with how far Nezinu had traveled. They had close ties with several other clans that they frequently visited but none had traveled like Nezinu.
