Biography
rose bloom has a very storied past. once part of a crime organization that got bought out, she became a snake oil salesman for a while, and a scam artist in general. when she came to the area intending to pull the same tricks, she instead got suckered herself, convinced to join a star cult. when that went south, and the dry river clan took in the survivors, she decided to use this to turn over a new leaf (at least for now), and works as the clan's accountant.
rambly history below:
The Heartbreak Hotel and Casino has been owned by members of the Bloom imperial mob family for generations, outlasting any law or rival that stood in their way. The hotel itself has been happily tucked away in the corners of the Astrolodome since its founding over 4 generations ago, carefully avoiding the law and welcoming anyone looking for a good time. The Bloom family has always dealt well with external threats, but now they're coming from inside. Younger members of the family have begun to feel cheated out of their rightful share of the establishment, whilst the older members cling to what they have. If the situation is not resolved rapidly, the Heartbreak Hotel and the Bloom family as a whole could be doomed.
Rose Bloom was a young member of the Bloom family, known well by her peers for being good with words and numbers. She would often run the front desk at the hotel during her adolescence, and when she got older she'd be the one sweet-talking and bribing law enforcement that got too close to them.
When the family first began to split, Rose was looking for ways to take advantage. But she quickly came to realize things were far out of her claws..
With the rapidly increasing internal pressures, deadly politicking, and mob connections falling apart at the seams, the heads of the Bloom family were forced out of their former home in the Astrolodome under threat of assassination. On their way out, though, they dealt one final, deadly blow to the younger dissents- they exploited a loophole in the contract the younger members made them sign, and sold all remaining rights and business assets to AZR Corp before the date and time that the contract was to come into effect, rendering it null and void. Moving quickly, AZR Corp demolished the hotel almost overnight and moved all of the workers to Aziar. The younger dissents were furious, but could do nothing to stop them. In return, AZR Corp moved the remaining Blooms to Aziar, and appointed them the managers of the newly-built Heartbreak Hotel and Casino clone in Aziar.
As the pressure grew and grew, Rose became more worried about the future of the family- and more cheifly, her future if she stayed to see this conflict through. So she prepared to leave, and on the day the family buisness was sold to AZR Corp, she fled and flew far away. She would never learn the final fates of her peers, and she didn't care to. She flew past the plaguelands and the shadowy woods, all the way to the desert that was the lightning territory.
There she eventually came across Revoke's clan. She worked for the Coatl for a time, before being betrayed like the rest of the clan. Her magic was nearly torn from her body, but she was rescued by the Dry River Clan. She works for them now. For now.
