Biography

The Soul Bearer

Kheruvin's start was as unfortunate as his eventual end. Born to a clan with high mortality rates among eggs and hatchlings, he was one of the lucky few who even made it out of the egg. His mother and father, who had both experienced many losses of their unborn children would have been thrilled had it not been for the state of their new hatchling. Blinking with many eyes and speaking with many voices, the young Kheruvin was cursed to bear the souls of those deceased before their time had even begun. His 'main' eyes constantly bleed, forcing him to see from the many lining the rest of his body. Bits of his flesh are slowly rotting away, first turning into a whispy smoke, then disappearing altogether. No one can quite explain the wheel of fire, but they believe it probably has something to do with his affliction. Some think he is a curse from the Lightweaver herself, a cruel answer to the clan's prayers for the lives of their hatchlings.

His mother was so devastated by the fate of her only living child, she vowed to never lay eggs again. His father left the clan altogether. As for Kheruvin, he is left trying to find a way to stop his body from disappearing altogether before it collapses from the weight of all the souls. His mind is scattered, and it is incredibly difficult for him to keep a straight thought for long, as they are constantly interrupted by thoughts of the many other inhabitants of his body. He has found a way to cope with this by simply singing and humming, which seems to comfort the souls, and allows his mind to rest for a short while. The problem with this is that the more time he comforts the souls, the less time he has to save his own.
