Biography
Tulpa
"Old Coot / Lawful Neutral"
"Old Coot / Lawful Neutral"
His early life was average. He was very much, well…a pearlcatcher. He strutted around, high and mighty, with an air of superiority. The problem was, his personality was too extreme even for his peers. Other pearclatchers found him snooty, strict, and condescending. No one wanted to gossip with him, or simply be around him. He was blatantly ostracized and even hated. Life soon became a living nightmare for Tulpa. Daily, he had to make sure to keep his pearl close at his side, always fearing that someone may chuck it into a volcanic vent in the surrounding landscape when he wasn't looking. He lived like that for much too long, looking over his shoulder. That is until one graceful day he bumped into fellow pearlcatcher, RegenWolken.
Now saying "bumped" as a soft term to what really happened. In fact, he slammed into her so hard when running away from two bullying wildclaws, that the impact sent both of them into the earth. Gravel sprayed everywhere, limbs tangled, and pearls rolled. Flabbergasted, he stood up quickly, shaking off the dirt and rocks that stuck to his fluff and leather hide, completely forgetting about the female. Scurrying after his run away pearl, he turned to spit out a rude remark...but his insult died in his throat. She looked like a living rainstorm. The face hidden by the snow-white cowl spoke of mystery and beauty. He was instantly drawn to her. The gentle hum of her voice was as soothing as rain. Instead of insulting her, he apologized for his disruption- something he would never have done for another dragon. She gave a small smile, quietly murmuring an apology as well. This brought a grin to his face; he was ecstatic. After talking for a while they hung out more and more until they were inseparable.
When you see one, you can be sure that the other is nearby. After meeting her, Tulpa changed drastically. Instead of sneering at hatchlings' babbling he listened with patience. Before, he would have sat around and commanded a ‘lesser’ dragon to fetch his food. Now, he helped hunt and forage himself. Many of his old acquaintances would hardly recognize him now. Tulpa was finally tolerable, after a lifetime of whining... he was calm.
Of course, even the best of rainstorms doesn’t wash everything away. Tupla is in some ways, still his old self. He still gossips, though now he has more control. And the secrets he has gathered give him powerful sway. He is still sophisticated. The clan knows to come to him whenever they need information on royalty and nobility. But, just as the river can erode the stone, Regenwolken has worn away his hard edges. The dragon that was once rejected and excluded can now be found enjoying the rain with his mate and hatchlings.
A soothing rainstorm can calm even the most uptight of dragons...
