Biography
Meridian
Optimistic Dancer
Optimistic Dancer
Before Lucifer's attack on the Ancient Guard, Meridian was a bubbly dragon without a care in the world. Her job was that of an entertainer, a dancer, and she worked closely with a young Wildclaw named Azra to entertain the dragons within her clan, to give them something to look forward to after a long day's work. She loved only her family more than her job.
Meridian was in the Nesting Grounds with her mate, Noah, when Lucifer attacked. The shrieks and roars of combat will forever be etched into her memory, as well as the terror that filled her as Castiel and Emanuel rushed into the Grounds. Even while in their draconic form, the two Imps of the group could barely keep the doors shut against the few blasts the otherwordly being threw at it. Meridian'd clung to her clutch, and Noah'd clung to her, both fearing the end. They survived without a scratch, thanks to the patrol. Azra, however, did not. His mangled body was one of the nine discovered when the dragons regrouped. Meridian remembers crying out at the news, and being unable to leave her nest to see him. She remembers Castiel telling her her immobility was probably for the best. Her clutch hatched, three healthy children, and then the clan moved. A mass exodus from their old lair in the cave Ezekiel himself had begun to the vast expanse of grasslands in their territory. Everyone was on guard, everyone was tense, and those that didn't journey out to gather the tools to begin a new city felt trapped even though they were in the open. Meridian began to dance. No one was in the mood for it, not even herself, but she danced nonetheless. They needed a distraction, a break from their heartache, and she would give them that. Night after night, she danced, and, night after night, a growing sense of ease spread out among the clan. She remained optimistic that they could rebuild, that they could prevent further tragedy from befalling them, and her dances helped inspire the others, as well. Though her lively mood has dimmed a little, she still remains cheerful overall. During the day, she helps cook for the many dragons that work on building their new city. All that work produces many hungry mouths, and she won't let anyone suffer through hunger pains on top of the physical strain of moving massive stone down from the mountain. Many are fond of her and she flatters easily at their thanks. She's a very loving mother, always supportive of their endeavors. The three hatchlings that survived that fateful night are grown now. They've got lives of their own and no memory of tragedy. Meridian hopes they stay happy and prosper. Some had that chance taken from them. |
