Very smooth, very slippery. Imagine a hagfish.

Despite her Arcane roots, her rather dull coat let her to be ostracized from a young age, and was quickly diagnosed as sickly. Her parents, curious at heart, decided they would send her to the plague flight lands, as a way to try and boost her immune system. It started with small vaccines, as to not overwhelm her when she went, but eventually the time came, and she left for plague.

Though she fell ill often, she persisted, and eventually her weak immune system was bolstered by the sicknesses. Her coat, while still dull in comparison to others, had brightened and grown shiny, and she began to grow a layer of mucus over her feathers to act as an additional barrier against the elements.
