NAOMI G5 || IGNIS G5
Hidden deep below the cracked and weathered surface of Dragonhome, Mirza paced the passages of his endless vault. His magic flickered brightly around him, illuminating the otherwise oppressive darkness as his charges came into view. He watched over the lost and cursed items imprisoned here; but today he made his rounds of the vault with an unusual anxiety. Sahiba had entrusted him with guarding their most recent nest and Mirza’s anxiety only grew as their childrens’ hatch date came and passed with no sign of life from the faintly glowing eggs. A deep rumble from somewhere far above the vault pulled Mirza’s attention from his thoughts. A light dusting of silt fell from the darkness above, several artifacts falling from the shelves at the impact. He sensed a familiar magic wavering through the air as well. His sister’s magic. Mirza rushed to return to his nest, checking the twin eggs to ensure that they were not misplaced or otherwise damaged. Certainly he would need to have words with his sibling whenever she next decided to visit. He turned the eggs gently, his anxiety growing anew when he noticed the dark cracks growing along their surface before realizing that they were finally beginning to hatch. The vault door rumbled open as Sahiba returned. “I do believe your sister is nearby” she called as she entered in a flurry of crimson silk. “Honestly it appears there’s a whole family reunion going on without you. . . again”. She looked poignantly at Mirza, silently questioning his unwillingness to leave the vault. “No time for that!” He called, “they’re hatching!” “Oho, about time,” Sahiba said as she peered into the nest. Indeed, the two eggs were finally hatching and as the shells broke apart they revealed dark red scales, bright gleaming eyes, and. . . Sahiba stared questioningly at their newest children. “Is that. . . clay?” Indeed, the children were mostly flesh and blood, but portions of their forms were made of soft red clay. Mirza gritted his teeth as he sensed the faint aura of magic that radiated forth from the nest. Sahiba broke the silence once more. “Did your sister. . . turn our kids into clay?” Mirza was already storming out of the vault and Sahiba just stood back and laughed. It was nothing a little magic couldn’t fix after all.
