When Anzo pressured grandpa Mason to move his pawn shop so that a souvenir shop could be put where it was, he said that Galen could work at the new shop and the family could continue to live in the apartments attached to it. So Galen sells t-shirts now. There's another employee who mostly works in the back of the store, and if customers know a password they can talk to him. Galen has no idea what they talk about.

He's a bit socially awkward, often lost in his head. His family members love him, but others may be put off by his technical wording. Sometimes he feels caught between his father's artsy trifling and his mother's overly pragmatic outlook.

He loves to hear what his grandparents have passed down to him about his ancestor, Helena. He wants to visit the Viridian Labyrinth at some point.
