DJX1NuZ.pngwrGUoHT.png 		"Shh... They're hatching!" The warm firelight was the first thing she felt as she pushed her way through the jelly-like membrane of her egg. A dragon picked her up. Father, she would soon learn.
"Look at her! She takes after you, don't you think?" He set her down in the nest, the green slime touching her swirled wings, and moved on to the next hatchling.
A hatchling who's feathers shimmered brown and grey, who her mother said was "cursed." She never saw much of him after that.
A hatchling with the eyes of a goat, who their parents continued to hold, even after the next one hatched. His wings were cream-colored, and beautiful as glass, and being the youngest, he was the heir.
All as she sat there, forgotten.
"Ta-DAAAAAA" Briany set a pot of tea on the table. It steamed green, and radiated heat.
"Disgusting. Tea SUCKS." Minty said, sticking her tongue out.
Starshine took a sip from her cup, blowing the steam from it out of the way. "I love it."
She was the strongest fighter in the clan. She had to be the strongest fighter in her clan. If not...what was she?
The sound of a sad, simple tune echoed through the ravine, played on the bones of a Shatterwing Vulture. Nobody would find her here. Even if they tried to follow the sad, simple tune.
"Three hundred gems, for one guy?" She wasn't sure about this. The offer seemed to good to be true. But...Kidnapping someone. That, she wasn't sure about. The photo of the tiny, Wind-Flight Nocturne smiled up at her. He was small. Weak looking even.
"I'm not sure I can do this." She said. "I'm not that type of dragon."
"Oh, but you will be. Because if you don't, won't they just forget you?"
It hit too close to home.
"It's not worth it."
"I asked you nicely."
And the dragon lifted up its hood, staring at her with glowing, swirling eyes. And suddenly, she was falling.
