Biography

(AR-cure-uh)
When I was new to the site, I decided to hatch some fodder for a dom manager. Arcura was the result!
JCScMnx.png

Born with a greater affinity to magic than others, and with her ancient Arcane ancestry, Arcura decided to devote her life to restoring the lost necromantic arts written of in the ancient texts of the Homestead. She can be found collecting wild herbs and materials for her rituals. She is quite friendly, albeit a little strange from the strange magics surrounding her. When a dragon of the clan dies, she often uses her methods to summon their spirit for a short while, and loved ones can converse with their friend or family member one last time.

Story by me
Arcura held the leaves up to the light streaming through the window and chuckled to herself. Nero was kind, and excellent company, but sometimes he couldn’t tell the wall from the floor. He definitely wouldn’t be sent out on any more of her gathering errands.
She stood up off her chair and walked back through her den. It was messy, crammed and crowded with dried plants, old bones and strange powders, and North often remarked that it was a miracle she knew where anything was at all.
She pushed past the hanging baskets by the door, and blinked in the bright sunlight. It was an uncommonly sunny day, rare for a lair this deep in Shadow territory. Nero was leaning against the low garden wall, and he jumped at the sight of her. "Nero," she began, "I asked you to get me some dustbowl ivy."
"Yeah, I did! The ones with the purple leaves, right?"
"No, Nero, that's corpsemaker ivy. And that's exactly what you got me."
Nero's smiling face drooped a bit. "Oh, Arc, I'm so sorry. Do you want me to go find some more?"
Arcura looked at his sad face and felt a bit sorry. "You know what, I don't even need it for the spell. You can go off now."
Nero visibly brightened, and took off down the rocky path leading back to the main square. Arcura sighed, turned around, and strode back through the door. She had lied to Nero; she actually did need the ivy for the spell, but even though fresh was best, she thought she had some dried ivy sitting around here somewhere. After a brief, but intense search, Arcura crawled back out from under a stuffed chimera clutching her prize. She wound through stacks of ancient books and artifacts, finally emerging into a clean-ish room, occupied by a smoking bowl and a worried-looking Imperial, who took up almost all the space.
"I'm sorry to keep you waiting, Azinnoth." the tiny Fae said.
"Oh, it's okay, I have time.." Azinnoth replied in a distracted, airy voice. She had never been the same since Arrowroot died in the skirmish a few weeks ago.
Arcura crouched over the bowl and ground up the dried ivy in her claws. "This is the last ingredient. It should activate the bone mixture." Azzinnoth watched fixedly as Arcura sprinkled the ivy flakes into the bowl. The smoking abruptly stopped, and the swirling concoction inside grew still and shining, as Arcura whispered words onto its smooth surface. The liquid in the bowl seemed to flash, for a moment; then a murky, clouded face came into view. Then, a distorted voice emanated from the image.
"He-Hello? Who are you?"
"ARROW!" Azinnoth exploded forward and clutched at the bowl, as Arcura frantically tried to keep her from tipping it over. The face in the bowl grew clearer, until the details could be seen- it was a black Mirror, with bright green skull markings. He seemed startled, until he recognized the dragon standing above him and smiled.
"Az!It's so good to see you! You actually found a way to bring me back?!"
Arcura took the opportunity to cut between the two weeping faces. "I haven't brought you back. This is only for a few minutes."
This seemed to sharpen Azinnoth, who stopped crying and turned back to the bowl. "I miss you so much, love! Is it nice there?"
Arcura wandered to the corner of the room, and watched the huge Imperial peer into the small bowl. The laws of the afterlife stated that Arrowroot couldn't reveal any details of it, not even to a necromancer like herself. Now, she was going to get out of here to give the couple their last few minutes together. As she wandered back to the door, running her claws along the old books and trinkets, and emerged into the sun once again, she smiled.

- Due to her constant necromancer duties, she is often seen weeping for the ones she cannot summon despite feeling perfectly fine most of the time.

- She has a habit of appearing out of no where and freaking out her other clan members. She usually doesn't do it on purpose, but finds freaking dragons out particularly amusing.

- She likes to read and watch sad stories for fun, as being necromancer has made her pretty much immune to feeling depressed or sad. She also happens have a tub of ice-cream near by -- since other dragons do seem to have them at hand when reading these kinds of stories.

- Huge fan of cute little critters and creatures, her favorites being small vermin and felines. She will feel personally offended if you don't let her pet your familiar.
