Odessa is one of two plague clerics - members of the Royal Court who hold service in the ancient temple and are revered as supernatural mediums for the Plague Mother. Odessa, alongside her 'sister' Erra, carry with them a special incense imbued with some of the most powerful plague magic ever concocted. With it, they carry the ability to commune with the Plaguemother, and pass her will along to the Queen and Royal Court. Their magical incense is also called upon by brew masters and plague alchemists to infuse into their experimental toxins, potions and diseases. Odessa is the younger cleric, diplomatic and devoted. She excels in communication with nobles and relaying the Plague mother's wishes to the court eloquently. But it's been a long time...too long. While many young pupils have been elected to take upon them this divine burden over the years, none have lasted through training. Some, so apparently overwhelmed by the occupation, quit. Others simply vanished, never to be heard from again. Many have taken to suspecting the clerics of foul play, of using their positions of power for sinister intentions, but nothing has ever been proven. With the training and appointing of a new apprentice being both such an arduous task, and one that only the previous generation's clerics can fulfill, many have elected to remain silent despite their mistrust. After all, while the sister clerics keep their secrets close, they have yet to fail...____________________
