Wild brambles smacked their faces as the clan moved through the realm of shadow. Even Stryder, their most stoic, was beginning to worry they would not find a place to nest and would be victims of the darkness. In the distance he suddenly heard moving water. Surely this would be a place they could rest, for the brambles can't grow in a riverbed. Their pace quickening, the clan moved towards the sound. Their hopes faltered as they reached a small clearing and a pool of liquid shadow creating the noise. "We must push on" Stryder sighed, as the clan moved to continue. As they walked it seemed the pool was following them, brambles clearing as it went. This intrigued some of the hatchlings and they turned to feel the pool. Ohm yelled for them to return but it was too late, three hatchlings fell into the darkness. In a desperate attempt to bring them back, she unleashed a burst of light directly at the pool. Once the light diminished, the pool was gone...but there were four hatchlings now. Ohm looked at the small shadow imperial, "Can you show us a way, little one?" she asked. The small dragon nodded, drops of shadow lingering on his scales, and led them to a clearing for their time in the shadow realm.
