Prodigy, gifted, born lucky; such titles are given to a child who's bones quaked and whos flames roared with exertion - who fought for her talent for the right to rule beneath the talons of a 'Firelord' who's rage burned hotter then the most smoldering coals. Azula was the second born, holding little claim to the crown at birth but her abilities and her undisputed talent far above the grade of her peers and older brother as a hatchling made her favored, an example to use against her brother Zuko. Whatever relationship they fostered in the days of their youth before wisps of red and then blue flames collected at her palms were shattered, it was either she be better then him and avoid the wrath of their father while damning herself away from a mother she believed thought of her as nothing more then a monster or face the Firelord's flaming claws and bring dishonor to herself and to her nation. Azula was not born ruthless and cruel; and even now she doesn't use excessive force unless necessary doesn't kill if it gains her nothing more that splattered blood. She's calculated and turned as cold as the lightning that dances from her points of her talons. She chases the crown of her father, chases greatness she believes was born innately within herself - her "dreams" barely more then a extension of her fathers claws turned and melded by him to be nothing more then his weapons. Her scorn, hatred and cruelty towards her now exiled brother and a mother long long gone a necessity to survival. She trains hard, works until her muscles ache with exertion lets her fire roar as her chest struggles to catch up. Being less then perfect is not an option, not one piece of hair should be out of place. To survive in her fathers clan - his nation Azula truly had to be both careful and undoubtedly lucky.
