The beauty of Geode dragons has become recognized and coveted across Sornieth, but most dragons lack the deep ancestral connection required to undergo petrification. Never mind the amount of time it takes for the process to occur naturally!

Scientists of the Arcane Flight have discovered a way to synthetically produce a Geode-like appearance via a combination of Earth and Arcane magic. No one can quite explain what this process entails, but those who have undergone it voluntarily report satisfactory results, aside from an uncomfortable hardening and fading of the hide that can occur in some dragons.

Since the inception of what is now known as Project Opalescent Geode, rumors have flown that dozens of dragons traveling alone between Starfall Isles and Dragonhome have gone missing. While scientists associated with the project offer their condolences, they're quick to deny any involvement.
