Nautil is so named because he collects shiny things from the ocean... well, and he looks like a polished piece of sea treasure, also. The dragon doesn’t mind the nickname, since sea gems are some of his favorite things to find and make jewelry out of.

While Nautil is a very simple soul and has no dark past or unusual problems that bother him, he knows that so many of the dragons in his clan do. The spiral spends a lot of time diving in the ocean with some of the other deepwater dragons in the lair, bringing up odds and ends to make into art or jewelry to sell (or give as presents). At the very least, he can give the damaged ones something nice to take their minds off of any hurt or unhappiness.

When he’s in the lair, Nautil enjoys teaching others how to make pretty things as well. He also gives classes on swimming and sea survival to the landward dragons who live in the lair. And he also spends a lot of time following Bakarris around; the sparkling dragon pretty much hero worships the depth dweller who can go so much further down than Nautil himself can. Someday, he hopes the two of them can finally reach the bottom of the ocean together.
