Regalis
Lair Guardian

Hex Colors: #675642 #3c2f22 #9d913e #3a285e
A Guardian that had failed to protect their Charge a long time ago, now retires and rests in the unnamed clan's lair. Being blessed by the Windsinger, Regalis has a deep affinity to Wind magic, much more than Gardien, and would be the go-to dragon guard for someone who wants to navigate the more hazardous areas of the Reedcleft Ascent. The Guardian may have found his new charge already, as well as a second chance.

[WIP, may change drastically]
A Guardian in a team of explorers of Sornieth, Regalis was a highly respected member of the group, and boasts the greatest strength. He isn't the leader, for his charge is the safety of all the other members, but is often appointed to lead the team in difficult situations. Said group, however, was infamous for trespassing and even thievery, but it wasn't Regalis' business. Until one day, in one ancient ruins of Hewn City, recklessly ignoring the signs of danger all around, the dragons ventured deep enough until the only light that they could use is from their own sources. The Light Skydancer that illuminated the path ahead triggered a trap, Regalis swiftly pushed the dragon out of harm, taking a blind knife stab to his left shoulder. Before he knew it, paralysis rushed through his muscles and veins, and he knew he could no longer safeguard the others at this state.

"This is bad. Get out of here while you still can, this is far more dangerous than I had antici-"

Before he could finish his words, Regalis had completely petrified into stone. The knife that wounded him had held a powerful curse that would immediately affect the first person hit by it. As time stood still, decades went by like the wind. And after what seemed to be forever, he was able to move a muscle. Blood began flowing, as the elemental energy all around Sornieth started surging wildly, he "received the Windsinger's blessings" and was able to break through the curse very slowly. It took one whole day for the stone layer to begin to crack. The next day, he could open his eyes, yet the depths of the ruins only showed him total darkness. On the third day, he was finally able to move again. Using his massive body, and the crumbling layer of stone and dust as added protection, the Guardian dragon survived through the traps and made his way out of the ruins. How long has he been in the ruins? Far too long. Even the outskirts of Hewn City looked different from what he remembered. An elderly Pearlcatcher noticed the wandering Guardian and called out to him. She was a local resident near the outskirts of the mysterious area, and had warned many dragons before journeying too deep in her lifetime. Few that dared to go too deep ever came back, and Regalis is one of those few. He looked like he hadn't aged at all to her after all those centuries. Regalis felt deep sorrow when she mentioned that other than him, no other dragon was ever seen to leave the place. He had lost his charge, and in his sadness, wandered far and long to Windswept Plateau.
