The image seems ridiculously comical: the vaultkeeper, a tiny and ridiculously fluffy dragon, carefully slides rolls of coins with one hand while noting figures on his ledger with the other. Somewhere in his office, a chest of what appears to be treasure and various valuables rattles--he nudges it with his foot and shushes it before speaking to you.

He has soft cheeks and sharp eyes behind miniscule reading spectacles. A mug of something hot and strong sits within his arm's reach, beside a plate of cookies. He flashes an indulgent smile at you and nods at the cookies.

"Go on and have one, it's a family recipe. Granny Candyfloss could bake a mean snickerdoodle, I tell you." His voice is much deeper than you thought, but the grin that follows has a touch of the impish all the same. You take the offered treat as you listen to his answers.

"I was hired by Zareen some years back, when the clan established trade contacts with a few local caravans. Things were pretty peaceful when I first came on the scene, so I don't know much of anything about the first iteration of the clan. All I know of it was that beastclans were involved, and it was a massacre."

He frowns--a heavy expression on a delicate face. You see his true age.

"For a clan so calm, it carries a heavy history. In spite of my life here, I feel like there are some stories that cannot be so easily shared."

Macaron turns back to his account. He is right--the cookies are delicious.
