ThingChildXXVII

THINGCHILDXXVII rumbled into view, seemingly out of the ground, shedding clumps of old snow and new petals. Chunky claws fingered the Terra Tortoise accent with surprising delicacy. "Do you think this would fit me? Hmm maybe... or perhaps I can find a friend to wear it, that way I can admire it all the time!" The snapper slowly slid it up to the little toad on their shoulder. "Hold onto this for me, will you?" Then they gave Tyrant a wink and a smile and kind of.. melted away.

In the stillness following the skydancer's beautiful performance, a beam of sunlight rests on ThingChildXXVII's stony face. Petals only just beginning to open around sleepy eyes stir in the breeze. Springtime is coming to the mountain, the last snowflakes are melting, but none of that explains how the snapper got all the way up here unnoticed.

Its a beautiful balmy fall day, perfect for celebration, but a chill breeze runs along the ground at night. The leaves are falling, cozy is the word of the day, and ThingChildXXVII is preparing for hibernation.

The snapper moves slowly through the cafe with the quiet grace of a glacier. No one saw them enter, but here they are, a chunk of the mountainside come for coffee. Mild eyes surrounded by closing blooms drift across the menu, and then a dreamy voice says "Something very fluffy please, a nice milky spiced drink with as much foam and cream as you can manage."

Snappers may not truly sleep, but ThingChildXXVII is a force of Nature. They are humming a little lullaby while they wait.

There's a rumbling on the mountain today as the ski jumpers take their turns. The air is filling with powder, sparkling under the sun. Officials are starting to dash about as the crowd grows nervous, murmuring. Up near the peak a ripple in the snow is turning into a wave, cresting and growing as it gains speed. Just as the screams of AVALANCHE begin, a rolling boulder becomes visible. Mouths drop open as it hits the jump, launching into space. Flips! Twists! Pirouettes and a scintillating smile as silvery petals burst forth at the apex of his leap! What a way to break hibernation.

ThingChildXXVII! I copy paste his name cause its easier than typing it out. MY very first snapper, he's currently in hibernation, very calm, very grounding. He's a sentient chunk of mountainside, and moves in tune with the seasons. Since snappers don't sleep, its certainly a curiousity to wonder what he does while hibernating.

The toad there is a buddy. Toads also hibernate. They also sleep.
