xxx The gods who live in the Black Hole should be carefully looking after the dragons down below. That's not to say they aren't doing their jobs. They are, just not very well. Since the gods who live in space can't come to Sornieth themselves, they must send messengers back and forth to relay information about how the planet is doing.

The problem starts, with the fact that these messengers don't ever leave the Sanctuary. And the Sanctuary is, well, a sanctuary. Everything is perfect and lively (except for the graveyard), the dragons are bright (and not the radiation poisoning kind of bright) and cheerful and never leave the walls of the Sanctuary. And neither do the messengers. They gather all of the information about how the planet-bound dragons are doing from residents of the Sanctuary. Which severely misrepresents the quality of life all other dragons are living.

Barrier is one of those messengers, one of two to be specific. He's a beautiful Ancient with large orange-y moth-like wings that have hints of sky blue. Barrier is a demi-god, one could say; thus he became a messenger for them. As he is both accepted by the members of the Sanctuary as well as the gods. He is quite the curious dragon and doesn't particularly care if he is snooping around in other folk's business. He's a bit skeptical about how happy everyone seems to be in the Sanctuary but does his duties non-the less, and reports what he sees.
