Design and lore notes:
  • Link was once the appointed knight of Zelda, chosen by a sword revered in legend to play a prophesied role alongside her. Now, their battle complete, the two have settled down in a peaceful village, after adventuring far and wide to help the people of their land recover and rebuild.
  • Although he wasn't born with elemental powers, Link's speed and stamina make him nearly unstoppable with a sword, and his reflexes are unmatched. Zelda claims his cooking skills are magical, but that's up for debate.
  • After falling in battle against the great Calamity, he was placed in a healing sleep to recover, but was left with amnesia when he finally awoke a century later. During his time wandering the wild, he relearned how to fight and fly, and slowly regained his memories and strength. (he would later lose his right arm through similar unfortunate circumstances; it would be temporarily replace by magic, and then a high-tech prosthesis (azurite arm enhancement?))
  • His runes, while subtler than Zelda's, are also linked to ancient technology, having manifested due to his century-long slumber surrounded by ancient energy. However, unlike hers, the runes that appear are chaotic and always changing. Translated excerpts include "remember why i'm here", "go see what's over there", and "find out what rocks taste like" (famous last words).
