This is Brannen's personal spellbook where he records magic he has discovered himself or adapted from combinations of spells, enchantments, brews, and any other forms of magic he has learned. Though it appears completed and its pages are all covered with elegantly crafted handwriting and runes, it is constantly being amended and expanded. It contains more pages by far than it appears to, and anytime Brannen writes in it or reads from it, the ink shines in iridescent shades of purples and blues. He never lets others touch this book, let alone see the information contained in it. Unlike many spellbooks, its nature is difficult to discern, and its character shifts to match Brannen's moods. The amethyst attached to its spine matches the one he wears on his wrist.

"The Necromancer's Text" lays out a range of Plague magic and core principles of Necromancer beliefs and practices. Every copy over time takes on magic and character from its owner as it is used and handled, and empty pages in the back are used for notes on an individual's discoveries and observations throughout their quest for knowledge and mastery of the Plaguebringer's gifts. Some are handed down from one Necromancer to another. It is a sign of trust and faith in one's disciple to hand these books down, and these editions become highly valued for the generations of knowledge they contain and the magic they come to embody as each dragon adds their own power and characteristics to it. This particular copy is Brannen's first true Spellbook, gifted to him when he left the Scarred Wasteland by an older Necromancer named Cyrso who mentored him as a youngling. Its origin is unknown, but the printing is faded and its pages are darkened with age. The notes it contains are written in a number of different handwritings, some written over the original text as the blank pages became too covered in ink to add to. It has magic of its own, and an air of cunning and manipulation that would make it rather dangerous in the hands of a weak-willed dragon. Brannen's mentor warned him that it is not to be trusted and it is not to leave his possession.
"The Old Book", as Brannen calls it, was discovered tucked behind others on a neglected shelf at the back of a tiny bookshop in the Starfall Isles. Its cover and spine are well-worn, made from a dark leather that has only become darker over the years. It contains some commonly known spells and magic as well as some more obscure and seemingly ancient knowledge, but the back pages contain runes that Brannen still has not fully deciphered. It emanates a magical aura that can best be described as Arcane in nature and faded from decades of disuse, though it seems its strength has been slowly returning since it has been in Brannen's possession. The yellow eye on the clasp appears to be crafted from glass and is usually dormant and motionless, but occasionally it will appear to move.

Sigils, represented by Infectionist's Sash: A symbol of plague and Plaguebringer's will, power, and control. These Necromancers are most often found outside the Plaguelands, bearing plague and plague gospel to other flights. They serve as ambassadors, diplomats, and counselors to those dragons that are sympathetic to Plaguebringer's doctrine. Sometimes they are welcomed in; sometimes they make their own welcome. Within the Plaguelands, Necromancers often wear sigils along with other Necromantic symbols in order to reinforce their status and their role, either because their position in the clan is still shaky or because subtlety just isn't their thing.
