EDEN
Finding Peace With Nature and Oneself...
Calm | Serene | Wise

"She is beautiful because she is strong."

Dragons Off To See The World
Uh-oh, looks like this serene mother wandered a little too far from her home lair MoonlilyluvsCas, and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. If you do not want to get a dragon in return, you can send her to the Rest Hub! This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

history
Eden was happy with her life in the Gladekeeper's domain. She lived in a beautiful garden surrounded by nature and had a happy life. But her life changed dramatically upon having a particularly strange hatchling...
She had birthed several hatchlings at this point, each lovely and dazzling. When all of them were born, she felt their names stir within her heart and poured forth from her mouth, and she always knew that was meant to be. So when she had a baby wildclaw and the name WitchKing came forth, she knew something was off. What a bizarre name! And the hatchling was even more bizarre, with his unending stares, obvious displays of strength and intelligence, even from the day he was born. He didn't speak much, but when he did, it was chilling. Something was wrong, and she didn't know why. When fires began to break out in their clan here and there, Eden became sure it was her own son doing it. She ushered her father out of the clan, challenging him to a traveling competition, all under the guise of protecting him. She really would go out and travel, if only to find some help with her son. Perhaps he was under an evil curse? She didn't know, but Eden felt strongly that she had to find out, or else the world might suffer for it. Eden remained calm, keeping her serene composure, and stayed as light and hopeful as she could. Perhaps the traveling challenge with her father would be enough of a guise so she could find the help they so desperately needed.

Continue her story here!

(BlackReshiram) Maybe Fire territory wasn't the best place for a nature dragon to go, but Eden was a coatl after all, and as was her nature to head for the Emberglow Hearth, the origin of her species. She wouldn't make it all the way there before she stumbled upon a dragon near the Molten Scar. The dragon looked edgy right off the bat. Dark scales of obsidian, with faintly darker rosette markings, like that of a jaguar. It had veins of what appeared to be molten gold, and a feathered, black mask that covered the creature's face, casting shadows over its eyes, hiding its alignment. It was carrying a pearl in a large pouch around its neck, so she could assume it was a pearlcatcher. It wasn't even looking at her, rather doing what most fire dragon clans do at the steaming, crashing Molten scar, they were looting the veins of metal before it was claimed by the lava. Eden had no intention of landing that close to liquid fire, so the landed nearby, content to watch, and rest for a while.

She had sat for a while before the pearlcatcher from before passed through in her direction. Walking with them was a Fae riding a brown tundra, both with orange eyes of fire, and near was another, unmasked pearlcatcher leading a colorful crew behind him. There seemed to be two dragons from each of the elements. Upon seeing a green, nature coatl just sitting by doing nothing, the group stopped to stare. The Fae leaped off the Tundra's back to flap through the air and land in front of her.

"What brings you here? Are you an exalt?" The Fae asked politely. Eden shook her head.
"No, I'm just off on a traveling challenge." It wasn't entirely untrue, but it wasn't the whole truth either. "So you don't have a clan with you? This is a dangerous place for a natureborn." The fae went on, earning a shrug from Eden.
"Nope, not with me." At that reply, the fae looked concerned. She could tell that it had been Coatl nature that would have brought the green dragon here. "Hmm, perhaps you should come stay with us, then. I take it you're probably resting after a long flight." She proposed.

Eden was eager to accept the offer, and nodded. "That would be grand." She dipped her head.

Upon reaching the clan, carrying their looted metal, a flurry of dragons, mainly fae, greeted them. a pair of smaller, younger dragons were the first to welcome the newcomer a coral colored tundra, Prince Jake, and Princess Jasmine, a fiery little pearly fae, who stuck close to a iridescent imperial, who smiled softly at her, contrasting with the fae's personality.

She was sent to follow the unmasked Pearlcatcher, Weasel he was called. The colorful bunch he was leading happened to be warriors in training, and metal gathering had just been another task for them. The masked pearlcatcher was named Misha, and was Weasel's daughter. Misha acted intimidating as first, but as Eden settled in, her true colors shined through. Misha was more of a mascot than a warrior. "That's my father's thing." were her words.

Weasel insisted that if Eden were to stay with him, she'd take part in the training. Unsure at first, she agreed. Upon actually training a bit, though, she found she felt a lot better. The exercise had given her something to focus on other than her...child problem, and she felt way stronger after it. She thanked Weasel for the experience, and he replied he was simply happy to have helped. With the new experience, and meeting and making friends with the rest of the clan, Eden would sadly say goodbye. The heat was getting to her, and she still had a great bit of traveling ahead of her yet. They threw a goodbye party for her, though, and she set off on a full stomach and happy thoughts.

(Theophanea)

"Seek the Shrieking Wilds and listen for the caterwauling and the roaring and the sounds that make your scales itch."

That was all she'd been told upon asking for help with her plight. The wisened Bogsneak had pointed her in the right direction and off she'd gone...

Only to be lost nearly as soon as she entered the dense forest of the Gladekeeper. Baffling as it was, she was kin to the Glademother after all, she continued, listening. What was caterwauling, she wondered. What sort of sounds made one's scales itch?

"That depends entirely on what sits in the shadows of your heart, traveler. What might make you writhe may be pleasant to someone else, you see."

Jumping with a cry, Eden turns to see a Pearlcatcher bedecked in sashes and scarves, eyes covered, watching her. She reminded her of a patina, like an aged copper trinket, tarnished by time and love.
"Can you read minds?"
"A bit, but you wear your thoughts on your face, green one. You'll not hear the sounds you are seeking today. The Hunt has ceased, for now, we are resting. You look like you could use a rest, and a conversation with our Wixen."

And so she followed the pearlcatcher deep into the wilds and into the boundaries of The Wylde Hunt, where indeed its members rested. An air of peace and respite hung over each of them. She was welcomed warmly, fed, and allowed sleep before she was introduced to the Wixen. The four of them mirrored one another and sat together and listened to her plight, her tale. Perhaps they would have the ability, for surely they sang with magic, to help her.

"We are knowledgable in curses and cures and ritual and magic, you are right... but I am afraid to say we cannot help you with your cause."
"Not all destinies are discernable."
"Not all Evils are known."
"You shall not find what you are looking for here."

She thanked them, for they were kind, and they did give her information when she asked, but she knew she must continue. At least, before she left the bounds of the great weyr, she knew that her father was safe. On she went.
