bio ❧ Lunen was amazed that anybody could see well during the moonless night. When he saw his friend rush into their camp without a torch or any kind of light, he stared in confusion. But even more concerning was the round shape in the Effluvial's claws, pale green and semi-translucent. "Is that a- no, don't tell me you..." "I have an egg," Cabazai sighed, catching his breath. "Your eyes aren't deceiving you." The Lesser crow's eyes widened in horror, glancing at the egg and then at the other. "Did anyone see you? What if somebody goes after us? Do you realize what you're doing?" Cabazai didn't show nearly as much concern. He spoke matter-of-factly in regards to his actions, just as he always did. "It's for the sake of our cause. I'm the only Effluvial in this group. This dragon will be raised with the ideals of the Scarlet Syndicate, not with those who are trying to drive a wedge between our kind." Though Lunen was not one to doubt the leader, he still had so many questions. He didn't know where to start, or how his friend would respond. "But their parents," he gasped. "You just took a child from a nest. They may never know their parents." "Not their biological parents," the Effluvial said. "But I'll be the one to raise them, teach them my ideals. I want you to make sure nobody else treats them differently for who they are, so long as they're productive. They could be valuable towards getting more Effluvials to trust us." "Are you sure we'll be trusted after you stole an egg?" Lunen questioned, sickle-shaped hind claws tapping the ground. "I was very careful to make sure I was not spotted," Cabazai answered nonchalantly. "Even if I was seen, they might not know it was me. I made sure to get this done as soon as possible. Now, we need a nest prepared." "I-" Lunen stopped himself. This was wrong. It was so, so wrong, but he couldn't doubt his best friend. Cabazai saw him and made him so much more than nothing, just as he did with everybody else in the Scarlet Syndicate. Even with their friendship, though, Cabazai was cold. No-nonsense, no jokes, only facts. He was so serious all the time, as if he didn't know anything but what he was working towards. That's all. But, even if the egg was stolen, Lunen couldn't deny feeling a sense of hope. Beyond Cabazai's thoughts that it would help their chances of gaining the trust of more Effluvials, maybe... maybe raising this dragon would help him. He'd learn to love something, to have more compassion, be given a reason to persist aside from his ambitions. Sure, he invested so much in his followers thus far, but Lunen admittedly has never seen his friend show more emotion. Besides, there was no turning back, now. "We'll gather some materials for a nest," Lunen finally said, wings lowered. "Whoever's in that egg, we'll give them a home here."

notes & rumors ❧ - "A new dragon has appeared by the traitor's side, an Effluvial, the only other Effluvial in the Scarlet Syndicate. It is said that the exile has a son, now. Is it unreasonable to suggest that this dragon could have hatched from that egg that 'mysteriously' disappeared from a nest some time ago...?"

trivia ❧ - cabazai's son, or at least that's what he's told. he's never had a motherly figure, only his adoptive father's. cabazai's no-nonsense personality makes him difficult to please, and carrion is concerned with trying to make him happy. though the older effluvial acts as if carrion is more annoying than anything, he is warming up to him slowly everyday. lunen sees carrion as a chance to hopefully teach the leader compassion, that not everything has to be about fighting for their cause. the ambassador believes that his friend may come around, eventually. - nobody in the scarlet syndicate really knows why cabazai stole carrion's egg, not even lunen. the leader has explained that it's for the sake of their group, and to "save" another dragon from possibly being subject to what he went through. whether or not that's the whole truth is unknown.
