The Ridgeback chortles, the crashing of the waves against the rocks in tune with her laughter.

Taric would sit before a hunt and watch the most frustrating prey that foiled the pack's advances time and time again. but when it was weak and wounded, he'd go in. What he lacked for the instinctual savagery, his mate took in for it seven fold. "

Ryx nodded, remembering the cruel days of when the eldest draconian joined in on the pack one day. the origin of how she did is blurry, everything is a bit foggy in her story telling as her eyes squint and corrects herself mid sentence. Taric's mate's name has a rotten taste, even after all these years, so she opts for just huffing and shaking her head.

" In my younger years, I had a clutch of Taric's eggs. Three of 'em, all passed in the famine years however... when the sea had offered little and gave out only suffering and pain. But in that season, Helic had become bare, for she had nothing to give to her mate anymore! "

The story goes on about how Taric ended up passing from some disease, she couldn't remember, and soon most of the mirrors in the clan either ended up dying or migrating away from the ocean tides. Despite her species' aversion to the water, Ryx had to learn to live in the element.

Her scales ended up getting progressively more colorful, her strong and massive wings acted as floats to keep her afloat, her body evolved over time to adapt to the environment.
