Rein, the guard of the Fallen Stars clan. It took him quite a while to gain Wayne´s trust, but no one said, that would be easy in the first place. Together with his friend Mavis, he keeps the clan save and patrolls around the area. Nothing could get past them unnoticed.
Rein is very stoic, strong and intelligent. He barely talks though. The only ones, he really talks to are Wayne, Mavis, his mate Erza and their children. Rein thinks talking is wasting his time and in that time, something could easily happen if he doesn´t watch out. Even though he would never admit it, he is pressuring himself too much with keeping everyone safe. But Rein can barely relax and never just sit back doing nothing.

Rein joined the clan three months after his mate Erza. Of course they didn´t know each other back then. He got abandoned by his first clan, because of one specific reason and Wayne is the only one, that knows it. Even though Wayne knew about it, he still trusted Rein after time and told him to relax and that he wouldn´t be alone. In the first few times, Rein guarded the area around the clan, Wayne was doing it with him but soon Rein would get another work partner. That was when Mavis joined the clan and proofed herself worthy of protecting a clan.

At first the two of them didn´t exchange a word, until Mavis broke the silence. "If you continue to stare this madly, you will get wrinkles.", Mavis said being quite amused about it. That took Rein off guard but he didn´t show it and didn´t respond. Mavis just shrugged her shoulders and said: "Okay, don´t say I didn´t warn you."
"Rein?", a strong but kind voice asked a few meters away. Mavis and Rein both turned around. "Oh, Erza... what is it?", Rein answered as his eyes had a very light shine in them. Mavis noticed, looked at her partner in surprise but then looked back at the female Veilspun. Erza continued with a small smile: "Wayne wants to talk to you. I don´t know what it is about. He also said, you shouldn´t worry, because I´m going to step in for you until you are back." Rein was very hesitant but then nodded and left to see what Wayne wanted from him. Meanwhile Erza joined Mavis, who turned around with a mischievous grin.

Only a few minutes later, Rein reached the place where Wayne was. "Erza said, you wanted to talk to me?", Rein asked while keeping his distance. He noticed that another dragon was joining the both of them. Rein mustered the young Tundra, trying to figure out, why they were here with Wayne. Wayne sat beside the Tundra, nodded shortly and replied: "Yes, indeed. As you see, we have a new clan member, but that isn´t actually the thing, I called you here." The Tundra speaked up with a smile: "Nice to meet you, my name is Mio. Wayne saved me, after I got attacked and injured in the woods. That´s how I landed here and he decided, that I am allowed to stay here." Rein nodded a short greeting, while still waiting for what he got called here.
"I noticed that you got close to one of our members lately.", Wayne went on, while smirking a bit. This caught Rein even more off guard, than what Mavis said earlier. He tried very hard not to let the Mirror notice it. "I think, I can´t quite follow.", Rein replied being a bit tense. Wayne knew exactly what was going on. Erza was like a daughter to him, as he saved her when she was still little. But to tease Rein a bit, he changed the topic instead. "What do you think of your new partner? She is quite good in her field don´t you think." Rein took a deep breath, being relieved and replied: "Well... I don´t know much about her yet, but she seems trustworthy. She is not as good of a partner as you though." Wayne chuckled a bit and then said calmly, while his eyes light up like ice: "Be good to Erza okay? I know you are a good guy, but if you ever even dream of doing something stupid, or hurt her... then we will have more than a problem." Shivers ran down Rein´s spine, as he nodded being embarrased that Wayne noticed. "Of course! I promise!" Wayne only replied: "Good. It would be a shame losing you. Now go back."

As soon as Rein heard these three words, he hurried back, trying to not let anyone see his flushed face. Grapejuice and Uzume, who were currently cooking, noticed the Veilspun and watched him run past them confused. "I´ve never seen Rein being in such a hurry...", Uzume said, while being worried. "I´m sure Wayne just said something to him and now he wants to get back to work as soon as possible.", Grapejuice said while shrugging her shoulders. Eleanor joined them both and just said: "Maybe it is because Wayne found out about him liking Erza?" Grapejuice and Uzume looked at the female Coatl in surprise: "He likes Erza?!" Eleanor replied confused: "The two of you didn´t know? I thought you would, as the two of them were quite obvious."

Only a few moments later, Rein arrived where Erza and Mavis were patrolling. "Why ya so red partner? Maybe ya should work out more, so ya can run longer distances?", Mavis asked while trying to tease Rein. Rein didn´t even reply, he just looked at Mavis not very amused about her question. "Ah you´re back. I guess I can attend my duties again now.", Erza said making room for Rein. "Thank you for telling me, that Wayne wanted to speak me.", Rein said while walking back to his spot. Then he whispered to Erza: "He knows." Erza flushed red as well, as she looked with big eyes at Rein. Without exchanging another word, Erza went back to her duties, Rein also went back to patrolling and Mavis just waited for the right moment to strike.

"Your mate eh?", she asked. "Be quiet and concentrate on your work.", Rein replied not looking at her. After that, Mavis didn´t give up and talked to Rein even if he didn´t reply. At some point even he warmed up enough and talked with her as well. They soon became very good friends and the best work partners. On top of that, Erza and Rein soon became official mates and had hatchlings soon after that. So yeah Rein had a great family, he cared for and that cared for him. Not only his mate and children were part of that of course. All the other dragons and familars of the clan were too.
