Biography
Taka is from one of the largest and best-regarded clans in Dragonhome, and to say that Buruk was surprised to learn she wanted to learn the Rose Rock path would be a drastic understatement. Other snappers and dragons had joined the clan by the time Taka did, but none of them were hatched of Earth, and certainly none were from a clan like the Tikindi clan.
Taka herself hasn't made her reasons for joining Rose Rock clear. Conscious of her prestigious background, she is reserved and tries to be withdrawn. Buruk's obvious regard for anything she says has its influence, though, and she doesn't hold her tongue if something needs to be said.
That last tendency has earned her some fast friends in the mirror pack: when Yui and Melker began to make arrangements for their nest together, they were both matter-of-fact about being left behind to fend for themselves. Taka saw no sense in that, despite the pair's arguments about prey availability. "I'll stay with you," she told them. "I won't interfere with your hunting, and you'll worry yourselves to death if you're both gone from the nest at the same time. We'll catch up with everyone after the eggs have hatched."
By the time the eggs had hatched and the trio plus hatchlings returned, inveterate flirt Melker was presenting sardines to Taka almost once a week, and even standoffish Yui would absently rub her head against Taka's.
To Melker's eternal disappointment and Skayt's complete indifference, though, Taka chose to make a nest with Buruk. "Maybe one of them will want to stay on the path with us," she suggested, but in the end, all three young adults wanted to make their way to other clans - one all the way to the Gladeveins.
