The slight veilspun reeked of sulfur when she fluttered to the steps of the Laboratory's old lair in the Shattered Plains, a parchment made of dragonhide clutched in her tiny lower talons. A lone Veilspun was an odd enough sight, but one so far from the Tangled Woods, with strange, dark crimson eyes - was enough to grant her an audience with their leaders. Aikana had heard of Miasma's strange journey, and had undertaken a similar transformation herself - at the behest of the court of the Plaguebringer that she served. The Wyrmmound wished to offer Lixiviation Laboratories a position to research the quarantine zone, out of reach of the WHATARETHEYCALLED under the control of the Arcanist.

Aikana finds the egalitarian society of the Laboratories confusing and odd, but tries to be polite in her own way. Unfortunately, plague politeness is often mistaken for mortal insult, and she's gained an undeserved reputation as a fierce loner. She could not be further from such a thing - Veilspun are social dragons, and her independence is based on respect for others - wasted breath on niceties is often synonymous with hatred. Those who take the time to discuss their slights with Aikana will often find an unlikely friend, and a comfortable partner to discuss philosophy and tea techniques while working.
