Biography
Fladrif the Stormsent
They say she rose from the sun-parched savannas of the Shattered Expanse fully grown, no parents to call her own but the raging storm and the earth below. They call her a spirit, a legend, brought forth to end the cruelty that summoned her. They say she runs faster than a King Quillrunner, with twice the force and passion of a Rockback Charger and a strike like a Golden Lionsnake's.
Fladrif is no mortal, but vengeance and penance personified.
At least, that is how the story goes. It's easier for criminals to make fantastical that which brings them down, than to admit that any dragon brave enough could have done it. The legends inspire dragons, but so to do they keep them from fighting back. For how could they be Fladrif, the Stormsent?
In reality, Fladrif was hatched in the Reedcleft Ascent, and raised in a small town in Charged Barrens. Her family moved there to pursue better wages, but the build bosses were cruel and greedy, ensuring their workers had no way to escape their iron grip once they were there. She was raised watching innocent dragons starve under the strangling hold of those too power hungry to care for how they got their fill, or for the lives they squashed to get it.
She dethroned the first power baron in her late teens, breaking into his office to steal and publish documents of his tax dodging and pension stealing. When his thugs tried to stop her, they were met with fangs like a viper's and a storm like no other.
At her sheriff's suggestion, Fladrif moved on to other, similarly strangled towns. Towards the middle of her life now, she has done much to bring justice to the untamed deserts of the east, despite being declared an outlaw herself in getting there. A part of Fladrif is amused at the title, seeing it as a desperate attempt to frighten her where their corruption couldn't bribe her to stop.
Despite her impressive feats, Fladrif is mortal. Perhaps not a 'normal' dragon by most standards, she does see how her infamy and fame could harm her family, and embraces her legend status to protect her loved ones. She dreams of letting it go someday, of bringing peace at last or handing off the mantle to another, but for now Fladrif the Stormsent rages on, bringing justice with a thunderous voice and sure claws.
