Each day she wakes up, Petrol believes, is a chuckle-worthy mistake. She takes immense pride in knowing the Eleven look down upon her every time she opens her eyes with a "What, you again?!", and in her striking influence on the people of Elesmouth, characterized by their unsettling WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE posters Pneumothorax gifts her every so often. They believe her jaw is deteriorating at a much faster rate than it really is. Her skin pat-pat patters off in slow, itchy drops, and her brow is near bare from constant furrowing, but her jaw, shattered from an archer's blow, has remained in remarkably consistently awful condition. She has not seen her condition as a detriment in a long time. In fact, she hopes the Plaguebringer realizes what a horrid mistake she has made, releasing such a vile thing unto the fields of Elesmouth, with nothing to do but grow stronger, smarter, virulent. Petrol is infamous even amongst other ghouls, and her entourage has made themselves into something of a legend, finding their way into mothers' threats to their hatchlings.

Contaminated Featherback Pelt Petrol does not like to think about death, yet her entire existence revolves around her transience. To a layman, the idea of a hatchling taking the trials is rather absurd, and yet, as the child of devout followers to the Plaguebringer, she found herself cast out from her village before she had even become adept at flying, eyes wet with tears and pus and pestilence. "I see," said the child, sprinting across miles of Plagueland desert. "To infect is to thrive."
