STEADY | METICULOUS | EARNEST
Ustilago presents himself exactly as he is. He's sincere about the world and how he relates to it. There is nothing about him that can be considered fanciful or fickle. He's steadfast, and dependable. With his large size and bulk, he hardly has the space to be whimsical or extravagent, but more importantly, it's not really a part of his personality. He's constant, reliable, safe, and very, very careful. He's almost an perfectionist, devoting a fastidious amount of attention to details. And he spreads this scrutiny to everything he loves, from the flower he's Charged with, to the Asyli he loves, and the family he's lost.

APATHETIC | VULNERABLE | POSSESSIVE
Since he lost his family in the the Great Flame, Ustilago's worst traits have surfaced. Whereas before only a little of his attention was devoted to his Charge, now nearly all of it is. He regards the flower as the last important thing to him, and only defends the clan if something truly dire is upon them. Otherwise, he doesn't care. In fact, so large has his obsession grown with that flower, he's become greedy and stingy. While he used to let the hatchlings see the flower, now he lets no one even down the tunnel, becoming aggressive if anyone tries. But because of his great pain, he's actually very exposed. He's extra sensitive now, feeling deeper and more complexly than he ever has before.

 HISTORY:
Ustilago was born to a clan in the Viridian Labyrinth. He was well loved and cared for there, and very happy. But like all Guardian dragons, he matured and began to feel the compelled to the Search. He traveled from dragon home to dragon home, the urge sometimes so suffocating he despaired. In desperation, he returned to the Sea of a Thousand Currents but still could not find his Charge, so he moved on, traipsing across the Windswept Plateau in quiet melancholy.

Until, quite on accident, he fell into a cavern and found it. His charge. A beautiful flower, pale and white and growing in a small shaft of sunlight. Here he would live. Then nearly five months later, a group of nine dragons arrived in his cave system, claiming to be a budding clan and calling themselves Asyli de Alienus Animae. He would have driven them right out, if it hadn't been for the charismatic Verelt. Somehow, she persuaded him to join them, and thus, his caves became the home for this young clan.


PRESENTLY:
For a brief year, Ustilago knew an amount of happiness he didn't know could exist. He had his Charge and a clan that respected his need to protect it. He had a mate, Verelt, who adored him, and a family; an intelligent daughter, Shidori, and a handsome son, Othran. But all of that disappeared when a rogue spark caught fire and burned the Asyli from the inside out. His family perished, and now, all he has left is a crumbling loyalty and his flower.
