A beautiful Shade. She's charmed and consumed many a hunter who thought her prey.

"Of course I'm not a dragon. I'm a monster in the shape of one. I'm beautiful, though, aren't I? Isn't that enough?"

When the Shade lost the war with the deities, and was torn apart and hunted down across Sornieth, Theia--or, more accurately, the wild, bleeding, amputated fragment of the Shade, that called itself Theia--fled to the vast cave systems beneath the continent.

She was alone, confused, and hurting, more than she could describe. Theia had never been Theia before, had never had to survive as an entity seperate from the great hungry mass of power that was the Shade, and the rough, bleeding edges of her mind and body were almost unbearable.

She lay dormant in a small cave deep beneath the surface for many, many years, struggling to keep herself alive in her awful, powerless new form.
The cave was inaccessible to the beasts of Sornieth with their thick, heavy, unwarping bodies, and Theia came to think of it as a home--the pool of silty water that made up most of the cave was a comfort to her.

She would peer down into it, and as her reflection--endlessly twisting and gnawing, a hungry, impossible thing--looked back at her, she was reminded that she was still Shade. Still herself, and still in that way part of the entity that had been her life, her body, her home, since the beginning of creation.

And so, when she had made peace with her situation, she guided her reflection into the shape of a beautiful dragon, glinting and iridescent with shades of purple that reminded her of the cosmos above, and made her way to the surface, determined to live.

As a member of the Arctic Heart, Theia mostly hunts, admires her appearance, and spends her time with the other Shades.
