(idk man i just think hes neat)

concepts:
  • all of his body is made of memories, but unlike most pearlcatchers not all of them are 'his' per say
  • can 'talk' to the reef
  • has a difficult time telling apart dragons and fish
  • thinks the voices are perfectly normal and most certainly not haunted
  • the bones of many dragon species taken over by the reef and old magic
  • just another bit of the universe looking in on itself
  • considered a friendly spirit by the neighboring Maren tribes and has been adopted into at least two of them
  • people keep trying to feed him, what part of I am a sentient pile of bones, pearl and kelp do you not understand??
  • every trinket he wears is a gift, unlike his appearance may suggest he is not a creature of vanity, but of endless sentimentality and softness
  • people keep trying to give him names, he keeps them of course but doesn't understand what is wrong with just being Pearl
  • the maren are fine with this, but all the weird 'fish' he meets tell him he is a pearl and that can't be his name because apparently there are lots of those and "you can't just be pearl like I can't go around calling myself undertide, no thats not a good name what is wrong with you"
