Hand plucked by a Skydancer far older than any young hatchling would be able to fathom, REDACTED considered himself a lucky dragon. He was brought into this clan as if he was family from the start and gifted a new life. The elder Skydancer raised REDACTED as her own, keeping him close to her and her mate's side. He learned a lot about the world; stories of old where dragons would steal the stars from the sky. It seemed so real, but hard to believe at the same time; why would a dragon steal the stars from the sky? This conflict was only the beginning, always listening to Marya's stories yet the capsule and pattern of her skin were nothing but a well-placed coincidence. That was until a night he lay next to the dragons that raised him, falling slowly into a slumber when he was awoken by a low and muffled growl. REDACTED raised his head slowly, his once tired eyes now darting around the room feverishly. Where did that come from? Perhaps it was his father's snoring? Yeah. That sounded about right. He settled once more to rest, back on the verge of sleep when a groan with a splash sounded around the room. REDACTED slowly settled his gaze on his mother's capsule, watching as the liquid swirled and slapped against its container, what looked like claws reaching out of the contained liquid only to splash back with the rest of it. That was the first time REDACTED believed in what he thought could never be real.

That very event sent REDACTED on his journey, wanting to learn about such wars and meet more dragons who suffer the same fate as his mother. There is one question that lingers on his mind. Why would a dragon steal the stars from the sky? What was the importance? He has asked his mother once before, what would happen if they consumed too many stars, and yet the answer was always the same. "Some stones are better left unturned. Others are better off forgotten." This frustrated him, why was it so important to those ancient dragons anyway? Where are they if not trapped in a capsule prison? There is far too much left unanswered and someone needs to give the answers he craves. REDACTED packed essentials and tools the very moment he got a lead of his own. Another Imperial who shares the same fate as Marya. He knows the Skydancer would not approve of his journey, so he wrote her a note and left in the middle of the night. Marya has deep slumbers, the older she gets the longer she sleeps so REDACTED does not worry her waking before he arrived at his destination. He doesn't even know if he can trust this new acquaintance.

Dawn was the name of the new dragon, the one with the answers he desires. His home was run down and disheveled, and what looked like the leftovers of a once cozy home. It left REDACTED wondering if the stranger really lived here... The young Imperial made his way to the door, carefully watching his step as he walks. The area seemed calm and peaceful, setting REDACTED's mind at ease even for just a moment. Glancing around the door, his eyes landed on a wind chime; deep purple stones and bones lavishly painted with gold. It was beautiful, enticing the Imperial to hear its song. The Imperial knocked his horn into the chime gently, the dull clacks of the bones combined with the clinking of jewels were hypnotizing. He peered into the deep purple stone, enjoying its beauty when he notices a face in its reflection, just off to the side. REDACTED swiftly turned around, face to face with a shaggy-looking Imperial. The Imperial had what could only be described as a twisted grin, stepping closer to the other male. "I've been waiting for your arrival, my child. You will do such wondrous things, but not for a while." He looked over REDACTED once more before moving past to guide him inside. "You need not be afraid, why this is only your first crusade!" The young Imperial turned his head, maintaining his position as the elder moved around his house which didn't seem so run down on the inside. It was decorated with the same purples and gold as the chime... At least the furniture matched.

REDACTED wanted to waste no more time, needing his answers. The shaggy Imperial led him from room to room, humming an off-sounding tune. "Where are you taking me?" REDACTED could hear the tremble in his voice, clearing his throat before speaking again. "I said; Where are you taking me?" It was almost as if it was a command, Dawn stopped and turned his head to look at REDACTED slowly. The same smile crept upon his face, sending a chill down his spine. "My child, it is not I who wishes to do you harm. My only act is to give you a charm." Dawn spoke softer, almost like a whisper but it was unsettling to REDACTED. Their eyes remain connected for a moment longer, Dawn turning his head swiftly forward and continuing to move. Shaking off the sinking feeling, he followed behind. What felt like hours was mere minutes before they stopped again, reaching a study. Books lined the walls, the shelves stuffed to the brim. The line of books extended out into the middle of the room, a tower of them in the middle with a carefully stacked archway at the very center. Dawn disappeared into it, making him pause to get another glance around the room. REDACTED couldn't make out the titles, some of them so old or dusty to be legible. he moved slowly forward, looking around either side of him and catching letters and notes sticking out here and there in a seemingly unorganized manner.

Letter after letter, REDACTED assumed each had no meaning. The archway was in front of him, a mountain of books with stones wedged between the spaces that give off a soft glow of light. REDACTED gazed around the archway again, picking up a paper that's sticking from the arch. He gazed over the writings, picking out bits and pieces but over all it seemed useless knowledge to him. I fear his curiosity may be too great, I worry he may try to find you- find out about you. I trust you, Dawn. Please don't dissappoint me. REDACTED's brow furrowed, unsettled the further he reads until a chill settles in his bones. He recognizes the signature at the bottom, Marya. The letter sent a jolt through his body. Marya had sent a letter to Dawn, worry etched into the page. What was his mother hiding? What could Dawn show him that made her so desperate? REDACTED tucked the letter into hid pocket, observing the arch for more information.

"Come now, child. You haven’t seen anything wild.” Dawn’s voice trailed from deep within the mountain of books. What did he mean? Were there more things he didn’t know about Marya, or more that the Skydancer had told Dawn? REDACTED would get himself together, putting on a brave face and making his way into the archway. The walls were the same as the outside, books upon books stacked in an intricate pattern with glowing stones wedged in open spaces. There would be a faint purple glow as he travels through the path, unsure if he was traveling up or down- his sense of direction was off. The glow would become a brighter light until he steps into what looked like an alchemist’s lab. Vials and bottles filled with mysterious liquid and shapes were scattered all over the room. REDACTED didn’t look too long at any of them, afraid of what he might find inside them. His gaze would soon land on the Imperial, hovered over what looked like a bathtub covered in Runes. The runes were similar in color to the rest of Dawn's home; purple and gold, pulsing sporadically. "Come, gaze into the past, present and future. See your mother as I once knew her." Dawn would turn his head down into the bathtub, gazing into it for a long moment.

"Sometimes, the things you see in the shadows are more than just shadows".
REDACTED was a budding ruler, looking for the perfect place to take root and start his own Empire. It's his goal to spread his children far and wide, each flight and each different breed of dragon within his hands. He wishes to raise a family, each child is given one purpose.
Spread chaos.
Corruption eats at him, his mind further and further from what it once was. His brain rots with disease, his thoughts plagued with decay and torment. His children, once innocent and trusting are turned vile and distrustful with their father’s intent.

You could say REDACTED was a gentle giant, fair and kind to those around him. He was a traveler, searching far and wide for answers and knowledge around the world. REDACTED wanted answers, demanded them in fact. He wanted to know what was and what is, why the world turns as it does. The more he learned, the more he spiraled and the less he understood.

Let's just say... When you stare too far into the void; The void stares back.
