When the leaves on the trees in the Hunter Clan start to brown and tumble, and the air begins to bite, no one is happier than Monarch. He loves the colors, and he loves the opportunity to curl up in front of a fire during chilly nights. He's all about that Fall Aesthetic. He maintains a small apple orchard and personally arranges the clan's Fall Festival, featuring apple-picking, storytelling, and a spectacular bonfire. He spends the rest of the year looking forward to and talking about autumn. Lucky for him he ended up in one of the Labyrinth's few deciduous regions. He earns his keep by helping other dragons plan events - although none is ever as passionate as his autumn celebration.

He's not especially close to any other dragons, but he's friendly with Bloom, whose attachment to spring at least makes him sympathetic to Monarch's all-consuming season obsession, and the fire warrior Bruichladdich, who appreciates the coatl's huge, elaborate bonfires.
