"I define a 'good person' as somebody who is fully conscious of their own limitations. They know their strengths, but they also know their 'shadow' - they know their weaknesses. In other words, they understand that there is no good without bad."
Shadow spends her time trying to make sure that everything in her life - and those around her - is balanced in the proper ways. The wildclaw knows that if you skew toward one thing more than another, you can spin out of control quickly and easily without realizing it.
It's taken the dragon many years to come to that understanding. For too long, Shadow found herself lost in the darker aspects of life because she let the darkness have too much control. It wasn't until her family was swallowed by their pursuit of the wrong aspects of life that Shadow realized how much damage can be done by someone too focused on small gains in a hurry rather than trying to make their way toward the light.
Chaotic Daydreams embraces those who feel the need to find a safe place to enact change in themselves. Shadow wasn't sure she would ever be able to truly feel balanced, but she does her best. Here, when she feels the lure of the quick "fixes" and "gains" through the use of darkness, the others in the lair remind her that the pull of the light may be more subtle but the rewards are worth waiting for.
Someday, Shadow hopes that she can go back and pull her family back into the light... but until then, she will continue making herself a better person and attempt to help her new family in any way that she can.
