 being a plague dragon is a hard life. to serve a dragon with such an.. appearance is asking for others to judge you harshly. the plagued are often disregarded as deranged for their disruption of nature, or disregarded as thieves and evil. the smell doesn't really help either. but some weren't born as a plague dragon, there were also those who were infected. its normally easy to tell a plague from birth to an infected host as a hosts appearance stay the same, and their effects can range from barely recognisable to tame at worst

dragons who get infected are often unwilling and most don't even notice until a week or month passes. and the scariest part? none of them ever know how they got infected. this has, of course, led to many rumours and general distaste for plague dragons. so you may be wondering how merahi got infected, did she do it willingly? does she remember how or even know she's infected? and that's how she fools everyone. they always only judge by appearances...

 		to be hatched a plague dragon is to give up things such as beauty and status immediately, but for a very very few percentage of dragons its not. nobody truly knows about them because they hide so well amongst others, which all use to their advantage. some use this and swindle others to serve the plaguebearer but most hide and try to blend with the rest of society, feeling as if they don't belong with their flight. merahi uses this for fun
