Reberth

Usually the oldest child is the one who is more responsible - or at least, that is the expectation. Not so with Reberth. Nothing was wrong with her intellect, but it was true, what she heard others saying about her - she had the attention span of Spiral! Except when something caught her fancy. Becoming a Night Warrior was one of those things. She didn't understand at first, and maybe still has only a hazy grasp of what it means, but when she saw her sister's progress in training, she was convinced she could do it. She wanted to do it. Just, maybe, on slightly different terms than her sister.

Her efforts to train with Recerth were met with impatience of a different sort from her own. But when it became clear they could not get along in the Coliseum, she nevertheless forged ahead, doggedly pursuing what had become her dream as well. She got to work on a different schedule, one that worked better for her, and wasn't long behind her sister in achieving mastery of the 20th Level, enabling her to tag along when Recerth presented herself for Registration. That was pretty cool, she thought, though Recerth didn't seem to appreciate it, and then Dad showed up with another lecture... blah, blah. Well, she did it, and by the gods she would be a great defender of the Weyr!
