Disappeared like a puff of smoke
In Nightmare Bazaar there are many dragons like Ms. Puff whose abdoment glows from within. No one knows what this light actually is, but Ms. Puff insists it's her core and that she's made from magic despite professional witches claiming otherwise. She can be found perched on the lamp that marks the Bazaar's invisible entrance. She warns dragons to stay away from it. But she's not always there and young hatchlings don't want to listen to some old hag with a glittering stomach. She remembers her life before her abduction by the circus. She can't leave now of course, she's bound to it, just like everyone else but she has kept her memories and her loved ones close to her heart. She likes to think that her glow is because of her love for them. Sometimes she wonders if anyone else remembers her. It's been a really long time since she joined and she's certain that her family has passed away by now, but she wonders, did they tell their descendats about her? There could be a young little nocturne, a mischievous fae or a curious spiral out there, looking for their great-grandmother, or so she likes to think. Sometimes she sees her people, the other wispwillows, weave around the trees or fly too close to the asphyxiating bramble and all she can do is worry. No one looks for them when they go missing. Most dragons can't even percieve them without significant effort or detection magic, and even less care to search for them inbetween the branches. They're so close to that large, shady city and yet so far away from everyone's minds. |
| As for her act in the show, she's actually quite fond of it. She always prided herself a decent dancer and since her glow-up, captivating a crowd has never been easier. The rest of her team are also like her, old and with glowing body parts that weren't there before. Perhaps it's due to the length of time they have spent here but none of them seem as worked up about their situation as new hatchlings do when they arrive. Ms. Puff isn't the leader of her dance group, but she takes care of the younger ones nonetheless. She wasn't much older when she joined. |
