"No, sibling, don't leave me... P-please, don't go..." The taller Vessel's head rested on his lap as he brushed a trembling black arm over it. "You can't go..." They chuckled weakly, the crack in their mask quite visible. "You must, my brother. You won't be able to survive if you stay in the Abyss with me." Seeing the despair in his expression, they gestured for him to lean down. "Promise me something, brother.." "Wh-what?" "Promise me you'll kill her. Avenge me to your hollow soul's content. And one more thing..." They coughed, void dripping out of the crack. "I believe in you, brother." With that, they went limp, their Shade yet to leave its shell.
"No..." He hugged his sibling's cloaked body, crying silently. "Why must it have been you..."

Tucking in his large, heavy wings, the Vessel stands and carries his sibling's body over to a more suitable place that somehow wasn't occupied by another corpse yet. He sets their body in the space gently, fixing its cloak purely out of respect. "Goodbye, Hope. I promise I'll kill her. I promise I'll take her down, to avenge you, my friend. If only you were still here to help me..." He unclipped the button from their cloak and attached it to his own, and with a final nod of goodbye, he turned to find a way out of the pit he once called home.

Quietly, he jumped from platform to platform, dodging and pogoing off of the spikes and small beetles he encountered. Before long, he reached the pathway he'd seen the King and his guards stand on so many times, disposing of his siblings, often enough the damaged corpse of one. The King. His father. The bug he'd looked up to for a short time, before being thrown into the Abyss himself. The Vessel shrugged off that memory and continued on his way. Eventually he got to a Stag Station (though he didn't know quite what it was) and rang the little bell, causing a stag to rumble over. "Hello there, little one. Wait, something about you is familiar... Quick, get in one of the seats on my back. Before the Wyrm sees you." He does so, and the stag turns and starts running to the Greenpath station; it's a peaceful place, so the Vessel should be safe there.
