statue - gold

OUTDATED LORE BELOW

This Guardian dragon is the first to sacrifice their body for the protection of the lair, as shown by how she's gone overgrown with plants. She is the first statue you see, and the most powerful by far. Barely anyone really knows who she was in the past, as they all have died. Although there are many stories and legends about her, only a few stories can be confirmed as true. The only dragon who told stories of her was a dragon named Alamar. Alamar was a male Guardian who many people thought was her love interest. This is true, as they had dragonets later in their life. Alamar said that she was a fierce warrior, challenging many rival tribes and clans to war. Alamar watched her tear down entire armies in order to provide riches to the clan. However, she was ridden with guilt after she retired from battling. As a Guardian dragon, she felt like her job was to protect her clan and family, not only to wage war on neighboring clans. Her family, her clan was the most special thing to her; her Charge. Her guilt became worse after hearing so many dragons praising her on her conquests. After 12 years of guilt, she decided to consult a sorcerer in order to turn herself into a statue that would protect her clan for many generations. As her friend, the sorcerer was horrified at this request. They begged her not to sacrifice her life and lose her family just to prove herself. However, using her authority, she forced the sorcerer to ready the spell to turn her into a statue. Alamar and her children only found out about this when she turned into a statue. Ridden with guilt and anger at the people who made her feel this way, Alamar also turned into a statue. Before Alamar began to turn into stone, he stole the sorcerer's powerful staff and put a curse on the clan, destining everyone to turn into statues once they die. Alamar's statue, which he requested to be called Aku, is found alongside his spouse. As shown with many other statues, the curse or spell to turn dragons into statues turn their colors white or gray. It is said that Alamar, or Aku, had golden Gembond scales, a navy body, and yellow wings before he was turned into a statue. Not much is known about this Guardian dragon, but it is theorized that her name was Kali and she had pure black scales that resembled obsidian. She is now called Statue by the people.

The pearl and shine,
Clock slowly ticking;
Light that rise,
Had now fallen.

The guilt the shame,
Guardian keeper;
Terror, dismay,
All was upon her.

And yet, she wishes for fate.

Love her mourn,
Torn to ash;
The stone that grown,
Giving up her task.

And all was a newborn statue,
The one became two.

Set Up

You need your first disposable fodder child, naturally. But this is not just any disposal fodder child. They are the founder of your new squad of completely horrible criminals.
  1. Buy yourself the cheapest adult dragon off the auction house. Appearance doesn’t matter when your only goal in life is to do crime.
  2. Level that dragon to 8. They must be stronger than their recruits. Strength is valuable. Important.. Vital to not being backstabbed. Put a big obnoxious crown and/or robe on them for good measure. They Must know their worth. They Must know that they’re better than alllll the others.
  3. If any dragon ever passes them in level, that dragon takes over as the new leader. Exalt the old leader. They must be banished in shame.
  4. Recruit your first crime buddies. Grab 4 more of the cheapest adults off the auction house. Level each of them to 6.

Daily* Tasks

*If you really love coli you can go through multiple days in one.

Phase 1 > > >
  1. Buy yourself the two cheapest adult dragons off the auction house. These are your potential recruits.
  2. Drag them through your two-fodder venue of choice together until they hit level 6.
  3. Roll a 6-sided die for each. If you get a 6, congrats! That dragon has passed your test and has been hired into your band of criminals.
  4. If a dragon fails, exalt it. It is not worthy of being among you.
  5. Continue your recruitment efforts until you get a successful recruit (or two at once if you’re lucky)! You may now move on to the drama phase.

Phase 2 > > >

There is much drama to be had in a band of criminals like the one you are running. Each day is full of terrible terrible happenings.

Roll a 12-sided die. Your next challenge is as follows:
  1. There’s a scandal (or romance) afoot. Pick two of your ready to breed dragons at random if you have any. Put them on a nest. The babies will join your crime organization when they hatch. Level them to 5 when they come of age. If the parents would be exalted while they’re on the nest, wait until their nest hatches and Then exalt them. If nobody is ready to breed, grab a random hatchie off the AH. A secret forbidden child or sibling has been uncovered.
  2. There’s Romance in the air. Pick two dragons at random. They are now in a relationship. If one gets exalted, so does the other. Their fates are bound together.
  3. Hunting trip. Take any two of your dragons into a coli venue that is too low for them to gain experience. (Your choice). Go until you get a familiar drop.

Alternate Hunting Trip Variation (based on suggestion by Alphazi) Roll 1d4:
    1) Hunting Trip (Look for a familiar)
    2) Treasure Hunt (Look for a chest or other openable)
    3) Stocking up on Supplies (Look for a battlestone)
    4) Costume Shopping (Look for an apparel item)
  4. Freeloader. Some random dragon has decided to hang at your place. Who is this guy???? Grab the cheapest adult off the AH. Leave them at level 1. For bonus points, try sniping an underpriced adult.
  5. Crimes time! Pick two dragons at random. They have to go on a quest now. Raise both of them a level. Roll a 6-sided die for each. If it’s a 1, exalt them as they were lost in the mission.
  6. Crimes time! Pick two dragons at random. They have to go on a quest now. Raise both of them a level. Roll a 6-sided die for each. If it’s a 1, exalt them as they were lost in the mission.
  7. Crimes time! Pick two dragons at random. They have to go on a quest now. Raise both of them a level. Roll a 6-sided die for each. If it’s a 1, exalt them as they were lost in the mission.
  8. Kids can do crimes too. Grab the cheapest hatchie off the AH. Level it to 5 when it comes of age.
  9. Backstabbing. Choose a dragon at random who is not the leader. Exalt them. Bye.'

Alternate Honorable Duel Option (inspired by suggestion by TheAwesoMew): Flip a coin, if heads, take two random not-leader dragons into the coli and exalt whoever faints first. If tails, do the backstabbing as above.
  10. Test the Newbies. Roll a d10 for each of your lowest-level dragons. If it’s higher than their level, exalt them. They were not good enough. Raise the remaining low-level dragons by one level.
  11. Major Heist!! This is it! Your time to shine. Roll a d12 for Every dragon. If you get higher than their level, exalt. Raise all survivors by one level.

Alternate Safer Heist Option: Flip a coin. Heads? the mission was a success! Instead of getting exalted on the failed role above, they simply don't gain a level. Tails? Exalt as above.
  12. A coup! Exalt your leader. They have been dramatically betrayed by the others a la the ides of march. Determine a new leader from the remaining dragons. The highest level dragon will be it. If there is a tie, the oldest tied dragon shall be the leader. Level the tied dragon one level to make it better than its peers.

After you finish your dramatic challenge, go back to the recruit stage (either the next day or immediately) and go again. Keep whatever pace you want.

Catalogue your crew’s terrible life in a journal if you are feeling creative.

Bonus Rules

Keep an eye on your drops while you’re in the coli. If you get any of the following while training, grant the following effects to your members who were in the coli with them at the time.
  • Eliminate: Oh, bad luck. Exalt both of them.
  • Gene: Good luck! They’ve blessed you with excellent loot. Put an apparel item of choice on each to mark as given a second chance. If you would exalt them, instead remove the apparel. They have managed to scrape by.
  • Egg: Oh nice, think of how many hatchlings you can buy if you sell One egg. Pick up the three cheapest hatchies on the AH. Level them to 5 when they come of age.
  • Rally: The current party is motivated! If they would have to roll as to whether or not they'll get exalted at the end of this coli event, they automatically succeed and return safely to your lair.
  • Ambush: Randomly choose one of the dragons in the current coli party. They flee and get the heck out. Immediately refresh, remove them, and replace them with a random other dragon.

If you ever run out of dragons completely, you lose. Start over. Consider keeping a high-score chart to see which crime organization lasts the longest.

If you ever run into a very exciting dom raffle or battle, feel free to exalt/send as many as you want. Run out of space and need to cull the group? Yeet them. There is no mercy here in the fodderlocke. None at all.

If for some ungodly reason a dragon ever gets to level 25, crown them the lord of all fodder. Give them stats & stones and pull them out to make them your new 2-fod trainer. Or exalt them for being too strong. Your choice.

Rhapsody always had an affinity for magic that transformed dragons. Because of this, he has shown great interest in the rare scrolls and vials that allowed dragons to get different colored scales, eyes, and even change their breed. However, Rhapsody had some trouble saving up the money to get one of the items, which is how he got into this situation.

You're probably wondering how I got into this situation... Rhapsody joked to himself. He was quite uncomfortable as his wings were pressed against the hot iron bars of his cage. He attempted to steal a vial of tempered sight to study how the liquid causes dragons to change their eye rarity to common. He thought that traveling to the Sunbeam Ruins would aid him in his quest to study about magic since light dragons favor scrolls and relics as treasure. Unfortunately, he got caught by some guards, which is why he's here, getting sent to the Ashfall Waste since his inborn element is fire. The sun isn't helping him right now, since it was a particularly sunny day, and the sun was heating up the bars of his prison.

Luckily, because he's so interested in magic, he has a few tricks up his sleeve. Rhapsody looked around to make sure no one was watching, and then conjured up a staff out of the shadows. He discreetly cooled down the iron bars with magic, which eased the burns that formed from the hot iron bars. He smirked, already planning to get his revenge on the light dragon guards. Hold on, I have to figure out how to get out first, he reminded himself. He focused, closing his eyes and tightening his body. He began to turn invisible, feather by feather. Soon, it appeared that nothing was in the cage. He smiled gleefully, I can't believe that worked! His happiness soon turned into alert as the guards noticed that he "disappeared."

"Hey! That rascal escaped!" One guard barked. The guards soon rushed to his cage, thinking that Rhapsody would be nearby, hiding. Well, they were right, because he was right in front of them. One guard made the mistake of opening the cage and leaving it open to check if he really was gone. This is my chance! Rhapsody thought excitedly. He jumped out of the cage and ran blindly in a random direction. His first thought was to hide himself before his invisibility wore off, so he rushed towards a forest in the direction he was facing.

The forest was teeming with life, which was unfortunate for him since that meant that monsters would be there. More unfortunately for him, his invisibility spell ran out. He ran into a Strangler, which hissed at him and attempted to bite him. He froze up, unable to do anything in his fear. He closed his eyes and made himself as small as possible...

BAM!

Suddenly, a burst of fire erupted out of him, encasing the Strangler. The Strangler shrieked and ran off, presumably towards a water source. Rhapsody let out a huge breath, in awe that he managed to use Sear since he wasn't the best at battling. That was when he saw a pair of brown eyes peeking at him.

"Gah!" it yelled when it saw him staring at it. The pair of eyes soon revealed itself to be a small black Guardian dragon with constellations on their wings and a wasp-like body. Rhapsody was quite surprised, since going into a random forest, even as a full grown dragon, was like a death wish if you're untrained for battle.

"Um, hi?" Rhapsody attempted to speak to the dragonette.

"Uhm, hello..." it said, their eyes looking off to the side. "My name's Kali! W-who are you?" Kali said, trembling, probably because she feared that Rhapsody would incinerate her with his Sear. Rhapsody gave a small smile. "I'm Rhapsody! I was just... adventuring into the forest," he lied. Kali's fear immediately turned into joy. "Hey, me too! Let's adventure together!" Kali shot up and dragged Rhapsody further into the forest, which was quite surprising since he was big compared to Kali. Rhapsody was going to question why Kali trusted him immediately, but was interrupted by her babbling about her family, clan, crush, and a whole bunch of random stories. Rhapsody wanted to protest, but he had a feeling that he shouldn't make Kali sad. Rhapsody would play along for now. And thus began a blossoming friendship...

Little did Rhapsody know, his sorcery would lead to Kali's doom in the distant future...
