Aria

Aria had been sitting tall and still for years. Trees had always given her comfort. She had grown up with them, drank from the same rain as them, sat in the same sun as them, rested in the same grass as them and bloomed in the same springs as them. Any question, doubt or fear that she had, she always took to the trees. They would give her the time and space to sit and find the answers. As she grew, she learned the sounds of the trees around her and could tell if a tree had just fallen, if a family of mice had made a home under a stump, which way a colony of insects were moving, or if an unfamiliar dragon had wandered into her forest. More often than not, most dragons passing by would mistake her for one of the other purple trees. Those that had enough awareness to tell that she was different would offer her small gifts and ask for their safety in their travels, or to help them find their way out of the forest. In time, she became revered as a sort of forest guardian spirit, but in truth, she was just a dragon that had learned from the environment around her.

One day, she smelled something change in the wind. It wasn't from the forest, it was from somewhere farther away. Images of faraway lands flashed in her mind, and she had the desire to follow the scent in the wind.

I'm a wind element dragon, but I've spent all my life in this forest... I wonder, if this is my other family calling me home...
