Tylial

Tylial's tale is a tragic one. He was a pirate who had the misfortune of falling in love with his own cannon. As a matter of fact, the cannon reciprocated his feelings, for it was actually a living, sentient manticore by the name of Chevalier, who had been cursed into the form of a cannon. They were quite happy, and they spent years conquering the seas together, until at last their ship ran aground near the Alliance's territory. In a panic, the manticore grabbed hold of Tylial as the ship sank. The weight of the iron dragged them both to their doom.

For reasons unknown, Tylial eventually reawakened and dragged itself to shore, a rusted Chevalier still clinging to its side. To this day they wander the shoreline side by side. Nobody really minds them, and they seem to show no interest in anything but the sea.
