Rather than risk their lives looking for her, the clan continued on their march north, leaving Ziema behind. As she sat, a freshly hatched, her scales hardened and turned to ice. She was abandoned in the ice and she became the ice. Ziema is hardly a dragon-- far more a golem of powerful magic." -Vortex
