Here, in the split between the dark earth and the inky sky, is where Maximos feels most alive. Air buffets over his feathers and through his mane as he adjusts his trajectory to align with the eastern star. Long night journeys, when he is shielded by shadow and star, are the reason he does this work. He would give it up for nothing else.

Maximos specializes in seeking out fallen meteorites in territories far from established lairs, assessing their effects and relative danger level, and, if possible, returning with them to the Alpha Research Center. He has been affected in subtle ways by this duty, coming to reflect, both visually and psychologically, the night skies he passes through on his retrieval journeys. Though this has not affected him enough in order to stop him from working.

Personality-wise, Maximos is calm and confident. He takes pleasure in appreciating nature and the strange natural architectures of the planet. He has contributed several volumes of poetry to the non-work-related portion of the Alpha Center's library, though critics have left less-than-stellar reviews of them, citing poor vocabulary choices and a lack of structure.
