Biography

Taylor was born up high in a cold and snowy mountains of the Southern Icefield. Though her parents were not from here, they had moved there many years prior as they had been searching for a home that better fit their needs, finding the cold and the mountains much more agreeable than the Tangled Wood, which had been far too warm and often got their thick fur snagged among the trees and bramble that littered the ground. Though nothing was more intimidating than massive Gaoler's suddenly appearing from the shadows like creatures from a nightmare, set to devour any wayward dragon up in, seemingly, one gulp if they had been so inclined to do so.

Taylor had been born in these mountains and did not know of any other life, she was content to live and play within the snow, where sometimes it would become deeper than she was taller and she would hop and bound through it.

Sometimes food could be scarce up in the mountains, but it was sheer luck that Gaoler's fed on either plants or meat. If one item couldn't be found, usually the other could. There was no starving and no need to go further down the mountain. Taylor grew with her parents, and when they eventually passes she stayed where she had grown up. She didn't see a need to go down further, but sometimes she would lay on a ledge, her fur helping her blend into the snow and rocks of her home, and watch dragons down below traveling along a mountain pass.

She did find herself curious about them, sometimes she would travel down just a little closer, and if someone spotted her, it either ended with them running for their life or staring at her with just as much wonder as she would stare at them. Her parents had told her Gaoler's were no longer a common sight in the world, after all.

That gave her another advantage. If another dragon saw her, no one would really believe them if they rushed off to tell others about the giant, snow leopard like dragon in the mountains.

Though it was after one of these events, as she laid in the snow and watched the clouds drift lazily through the sky, did she hear voices that seemed to be drawing closer to where she had made her home, which surprised her because most dragons didn't bother to come this far up the mountain as it didn't lead out of the mountains or towards civilization.

Taylor quickly went to hide among the rocks, laying still and watching as a group of dragons came into view. And for that brief moment she worried that she was going to be attacked because of her silly little games of scaring dragons that traveled through the mountain. Why else would a group come this far up the trail? Though she was far larger than any dragon there, she wasn't a terribly skilled fighter and with there being a group of five, in theory they could simply wear her out and claim her life when she finally collapsed from being exhausted.

Instead of being attacked, the leader of the group called out to her, which caused Taylor to creep out slowly. There was no point in hiding if they knew she was around there somewhere and she wanted to look as if she was more confident than she felt. Though what she was greeted with wasn't an attack, but an actual greeting and introduction. The smaller version of herself, a male named Hermes, told her that other Gaoler's called their clan home and that they would be more than welcoming to have her join if she was looking for a place to belong. This wasn't what she had been expecting and it left her standing there in confusion at first.

She was invited to come and meet the other Gaoler's, and perhaps it was a combination of loneliness and confusion, but she found herself accepting and following the small group back towards the Frigid Floes that they called home.

When they had arrived at the cave that they called home, she was introduced to the other 4 Gaoler's, to which she was quite excited to meet. Ithaqua told her that they needed more females to try and bring a level headedness to the thought process, though Taylor wasn't quite sure she could really bring something like that, as she would never really call herself level headed, considering she had gotten a lot of her enjoyment from terrifying other dragons and watched them run, though she couldn't really do that here.

Having others to talk to, however, kept her happy and far from being bored. There was so much to learn and experience here and she couldn't imagine why anyone would want to leave a clan where Taylor felt like she belonged.

Even though she was now part of the Council, she was still expected to learn skills to help the clan, and that was probably Taylor's favorite part. Learning something new kept her from growing bored and there always seemed to be something new or something that would need her attention. Learning alchemy to help Musa and the others in the lab, herbology to help in the gardens and to gather supplies for the healers, patrols and drills to help protect the clan and it's territory. There were so many jobs that would need filling.

There was still down time, it wasn't constant learning and constant moving and that was just as important because the down time allowed her to explore her new home and grow to understand how well it worked.

Taylor is also given the chance to learn about her own breed of dragon, as she had been born away and in the cold and unforgiven mountain range she didn't have a lot of experiences with Gaoler's, or even the Banescales that were suppose to be their enemies. Though she didn't really understand why they were suppose to hate each other, it seemed kind of silly to carry on a grudge that had started way before she was born and none of the other Gaoler's were really able to give her an answer to the question of why they were fighting.

Eventually it was a question she stopped asking, there was no point in asking when no one could give her an answer, or at least an answer that she found satisfying, which was simply just a nature of a world that no longer existed. The world was always changing anyhow, so what was true in the past didn't hold true now.

Taylor has found a comfortable place to call home and has settled down. Over the years she found herself seeking out scaring others less and less often, but every once in awhile it was just too enjoyable to do such things with the hatchlings, as long as no one got hurt and everyone is able to laugh about it when it's all said and done.
