Gabriel

Gabriel was once a part of the Talon clan, a clan of dragons whos main purpose was to fight. he once took great pride in being in this clan, and of his many battles and achievements. however, the clans territory bordered the territory of a small family, and soon his achievements seemed so worthless in the face of the kind dragon who brought him water after a hard day of training and talked to him to keep him company.

what use would a clan-less dragon have for trophies meant to signify a clans wealth? what use would Jack have for a warrior dragon when he had no battles to fight? this didn't seem to bother Jack, however, as despite him not needing Gabriel on his side, the young dragon returned to keep him company every day.

it was obvious to Gabriel that he was causing a rift to form between Jack and the rest of his family; they would openly glare at him from their cave, and he could hear the hatchlings talk about him loudly from where they played in the area outside their cave.

one day, Jack approached the entrance to their lair, asking to be taken in. however, the clan leader saw no potential in the peaceful dragon, and denied him help, ordering Gabriel to remove him from the territory. Gabriel refused, and instead left with Jack to search for a place to settle down.

their searching brought them to the mountain, where a clan known simply as "overwatch" took them in. Gabriel began teaching Jack how to fight and hunt, and while it was true Jack was not violent by nature, that didn't mean he was a bad fighter. in fact, he became quite good.
